Prodigy’s official guide does not give players a way to free the Wardens. It confirms that there are five Warden Keystones and says they “will be used at a later time throughout other areas of the Academy”—but it does not explain how to release the Wardens. Because that guide was updated on February 21, 2023, it cannot confirm whether a later game update has added a release step.
What is confirmed about the Wardens?
In “The Academy Archives,” Prodigy Education says players can collect all five Warden Keystones. The article adds that the stones “will be used at a later time throughout other areas of the Academy.” It does not describe a Warden rescue, a place to use the stones, or steps for freeing anyone.

The same guide explicitly says there is no “sixth” keystone. That rules out treating a supposed extra stone as part of the documented route, but it does not reveal what players should do with the five.
Is there a verified way to free them now?
Not in the official guidance reviewed here. The Academy Archives article was updated February 21, 2023, so its future-tense wording does not establish the state of the game after that date. Prodigy’s battle guide, updated July 21, 2026, discusses battle changes and areas affected by them, but does not explain how to free the Wardens.

If your current game shows a Warden objective, follow the prompts presented in your version of the game. If those prompts do not explain what to do, contact Prodigy support rather than relying on an unverified keystone route or community theory.
Do not confuse Warden Keystones with pet rescue
Prodigy’s pet rescue mechanic is a separate battle feature. Its official pet rescue rules say the monster must be on the wizard’s team, the opponent must have less than 50% health, and a rescue attempt must not already have failed. Those conditions concern rescuing monsters after battles; they are not instructions for freeing the Wardens.

Does Membership unlock the Wardens?
Prodigy’s official game overview describes the Math game as a fantasy world with battles, quests, exploration, and pet rescue, and notes that Membership is optional. The sources do not connect Membership or any paid feature to freeing the Wardens.
