To find a friend or group conversation, open the Chat tab in the Roblox mobile app, or open the chat box in the lower-right corner of Roblox on desktop web. The tab may still be labeled Party during Roblox’s regional rollout. These controls help you find people and conversations; Roblox’s instructions do not establish a way to search the text of old messages.
Find a friend or group chat on mobile

Open Roblox and go to the Home Screen.

Tap the Chat tab at the bottom of the screen. Depending on your region and the rollout, it may still be called Party.

Select the existing conversation you want to open.
Roblox’s Party Chat instructions describe this as the way to open an existing friend or group conversation.

Select the friend or chat group. If you have many friends, use the Search box to find a person or group.
The Search box is for finding a person or group, not documented as a search of old message contents. The cited instructions cover desktop web; they do not confirm that the same control appears on every device or Roblox client.

Start a new group instead of finding an old chat
If you mean that you want to create a group conversation, use the plus button in the Chat tab and select up to five friends. This starts a new group; it does not locate an existing conversation or search its message history.
Friend and group chats are different from in-experience chat
Friend and group conversations are opened from the Chat or Party interface. Experience chat is for people in the same Roblox experience and ends when you leave that experience, according to Roblox Support. When enabled, open it by pressing / on a keyboard or tapping the chat icon at the top-left on mobile. Experience developers can disable the chat window.

Why the chat controls might be missing
Chat access and available controls can depend on age eligibility, account settings, and region. Roblox says users must complete an age check to access Experience chat; parental consent requirements can apply to some age groups and features, and regional restrictions may also apply. Friend-chat access is also subject to age requirements, privacy settings, and regional availability. Check your eligible communication settings if you do not see the expected tab or controls.
