Check the Steam account you use to play Counter-Strike 2 for Prime benefits: XP, Competitive Skill Groups and Counter-Strike Ratings, weekly care packages, and Premier access. These features can help identify Prime, but Premier is not a definitive test on its own: Steam requires both Prime Status and Profile Level 10 to play Premier.
Which CS2 features indicate Prime?
Steam Support lists these as Prime benefits: earning XP, receiving Competitive Skill Groups and Counter-Strike Ratings, eligibility for weekly care packages, and access to Premier. Seeing Prime-dependent benefits on the account you play is a useful indication that it has Prime Status.
Steam’s guidance does not specify a dedicated Prime-status badge or a particular menu location where you can check the entitlement. Avoid relying on an unverified interface path or assuming that the absence of a visible badge means the account lacks Prime.
Why Premier access is not a complete test
Steam requires both Prime Status and Profile Level 10 for Premier. If your profile is below Level 10, you may have Prime but still be unable to access Premier. Check your profile level before treating unavailable Premier as evidence that Prime is missing.

Can a match tell you whether you have Prime?
Not always. Steam says that when a Prime player and a non-Prime player queue together in a pre-made lobby, the lobby is considered non-Prime and is matched against non-Prime players. A match made from that mixed-status party therefore does not prove that the Prime player’s account lacks Prime.
What to check if Prime benefits are missing
- Confirm the account. Make sure CS2 is running under the Steam account whose Prime Status you want to verify.
- Check more than Premier. Look for the other Prime benefits Steam lists, including XP, Competitive Skill Groups or Counter-Strike Ratings, and weekly care packages. Interpret them as account indicators rather than relying on one matchmaking result.
- Review the account’s status or purchase history. If the expected benefits are absent, verify the status of the account you are using before purchasing Prime again. Steam does not specify a dedicated status page or badge in its cited guidance.
How to get Prime if the account does not have it
Steam Support says, “Prime Status can be purchased in-game or through the Steam Store.” Check that you are signed into the intended account before buying, since the question is whether that account already has the entitlement. Steam Support: CS2 – Prime Status and Free to Play.
