To resize an object in The Sims 4, enter Build Mode and select it. On PC or Mac, hold Shift and press ] to enlarge or [ to shrink. On Xbox, hold LT + RT and press up or down on the D-pad; on PlayStation, hold L2 + R2 and press up or down. Each press changes the size by one increment.
Resize an object by platform
Use the control for your platform after selecting the object in Build Mode. EA Help’s current instructions list these separate procedures:

If the controls do not work
Bracket keys on PC or Mac
EA’s guide lists the square-bracket keys but does not specify alternate keys for different national keyboard layouts. If [ or ] is unavailable or triggers another action on your keyboard, check the in-game control legend or platform-specific support for your layout. An EA Forums discussion reports Nordic-layout differences, but it is anecdotal and does not establish a universal substitute: keyboard-layout discussion.

Console D-pad direction
EA Help currently says to use D-pad up to enlarge and down to shrink on both consoles. An older EA console-update post describes left and right instead, so do not combine those directions. If your installed version behaves differently, check the in-game controls legend; the older post says it can be opened with L3 on PlayStation or L on Xbox. See EA’s console update notes.

The documented resize controls are direct Build Mode inputs; they do not require entering a cheat code. EA’s console achievement warning concerns cheats that require testingcheats true, not the resize-button combination. See EA’s The Sims 4 Cheats FAQ.

EA’s control guide does not specify a maximum or minimum size, identify every object type that can be resized, or guarantee that interactions remain functional after resizing. Inspect the object in your build and test its interactions if its function matters.
