“How do you save Diddy Kong?” has two likely meanings. To save progress in Donkey Kong Country, use Candy’s Save Point and jump into the Save Barrel. To free Diddy in Donkey Kong 64, talk to him in his cage, then shoot the three coconut switches that appear.

- Find Candy’s Save Point.
- If the game presents an option to open or select the point, do so.
- Jump into the Save Barrel.
- Before leaving the game, check the file-select screen to confirm that it shows your saved progress.
Read the Candy’s Save Point guidance. The exact menu and storage behavior can vary by version; the game and platform you are playing are not specified here.
If you mean rescuing Diddy in Donkey Kong 64
- Talk to Diddy while he is in his cage.
- Shoot each of the three coconut switches that appear.
- If the middle switch is difficult, the walkthrough describes shooting it from either ledge using the swinging vines.
