Under the mature-content controls, allow the categories you want to see. These settings affect Store visibility and warnings—not censorship built into a game or restrictions on what is available in your region.
Change Steam’s mature-content preferences

Sign in to the Steam account whose Store you want to change.

Open Store Preferences. You can also look in the Steam client’s account menu for the Store Preferences option. Labels and navigation may vary, so use the controls shown on your signed-in account page.

Find the mature-content filtering controls and allow the categories you want to see. If explicit adult-only sexual content is the issue, check that category specifically; for violence, nudity or other mature material, adjust the matching preference. Steam treats these as separate categories.

Review any examples and save or apply the changes if the page offers that control. Reload the Store if the change does not appear immediately.
Valve describes these account-level preferences as controls that let players filter out or allow content such as violence or nudity. They can also affect warning screens on Store pages. Steamworks age-gate documentation explains how preferences are used.
Identify what Steam is hiding
A Store page is hidden or shows a warning
Adjust the relevant account preference. Steam’s filters can control Store visibility and warning screens according to content categories; you do not need to enable every category just to change one.
An adult-only title or explicit sexual content is hidden
Check the adult-only sexual-content option. Valve’s Store blog describes an Adults Only filter alongside filters for violence, nudity or sexual content, and general mature content. That blog is historical, so the names and layout on your current account page may differ. Valve’s Store blog explains the category approach.

Content is censored inside a game
Steam Store Preferences do not change how a game presents content after you launch it. Look for a setting in that game, or check its developer documentation and official add-ons for an authorized option. Whether one exists depends on the game.
A game, purchase, gift or key is unavailable in your country
That is a regional restriction, not a mature-content filter. Changing Store Preferences will not make the item available. Steam Support says it cannot modify or remove region restrictions, which may differ between Store purchases, gifts and third-party CD keys. See Steam Support’s region-restriction FAQ.

What the setting does—and does not do

It does: change which mature-content categories Steam filters or warns about in the Store, according to your account preferences.

It does not: remove censorship programmed into a particular game.
