A preorder placed today does not qualify. Bethesda announced the offer on June 9, 2019, with different timing for Nintendo Switch.
What the DOOM Eternal preorder included
Bethesda said players who preordered DOOM Eternal for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC before March 20, 2020, would receive DOOM 64 as a free digital download when DOOM Eternal launched. The announcement also promised the bonus with Nintendo Switch preorders, whose release was scheduled for later. Bethesda’s June 9, 2019 announcement described the offer as a digital download, not a physical cartridge.

The offer had three distinct parts; they were not all the same kind of bonus:
- DOOM 64: A separate digital game entitlement tied to the DOOM Eternal preorder.
- Rip and Tear Pack: Included with all DOOM Eternal preorders. It contained the DOOT Revenant skin, the Cultist Base Master Level, and the Throwback Combat Shotgun weapon skin.
- Deluxe Edition extras: The Deluxe Edition included DOOM Eternal, a Year One Pass for two expansions, a Demonic Slayer skin, and a Classic Weapons Sound Pack. These were Deluxe Edition contents, not additional parts of the DOOM 64 offer.
When the promotion applied
| Platform | Announced timing | DOOM 64 bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC | Preorder before March 20, 2020; DOOM Eternal launched that day | Included as a free digital download, according to Bethesda. |
| Nintendo Switch | Release scheduled for later than the other listed platforms | Bethesda said Switch preorders would also include DOOM 64; the announcement did not give a Switch preorder cutoff date. |
Xbox Wire’s June 9, 2019 announcement likewise listed the digital DOOM 64 preorder bonus for Xbox One. It gave an Xbox launch time of 9 p.m. on March 20, 2020, while advising players to check regional product pages for their local timing. That platform-specific launch-time detail did not change the promotion’s announced cutoff date. Xbox Wire’s preorder announcement

Can you claim the bonus now?
No. The preorder deadline was in 2020, so buying DOOM Eternal now does not make a buyer eligible for the expired offer. To get either game today, check the current store for your platform or a verified physical listing. Availability, price, edition, and any codes included with a physical copy can vary; a listing should not be assumed to include the historical preorder bonus.
If you preordered at the time but never received the bonus, the official launch-era Steam FAQ advised checking code redemption and, for physical copies, asking the retailer about any issued code. It also mentioned an in-game “Reconcile Entitlements” option. Those were launch-era instructions, not confirmation that the same support steps or interfaces remain available now. What DOOM 64 was
DOOM 64 was originally released on Nintendo 64 in 1997. Xbox Wire’s separate Xbox listing described it as having more than 30 levels; that listing confirms a standalone Xbox route existed when the page was accessed, but does not establish present-day availability or price in every region. Xbox Wire
