Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThaumaturge Cat is a useful control specialist, not a damage dealer. Its True Form reliably weakens many non-Metal enemies and can stop Zombie enemies from reviving, making it valuable when those mechanics matter. Low damage and single-target attacks keep it from being a universal pick.
What is Thaumaturge Cat?
Thaumaturge Cat is the True Form in the Rare Cat Capsule progression Onmyoji Cat → Magica Cat → Thaumaturge Cat. The reliable, guaranteed Weaken effect discussed here belongs to the True Form; the earlier forms have a lower, chance-based weaken, according to Claws’ Den’s character guide.
What makes it useful?
Reliable Weaken against many traits
The unofficial Battle Cats Stats unit database lists a 100% Weaken chance for about 6.7 seconds, reducing affected enemies’ attack power to 50%. It lists an 8-second attack interval, so the effect is highly reliable and near-continuous, but not literally permanent. Its listed trait coverage is broad, but Metal enemies are excluded from the Weaken effect.
Zombie Killer
Zombie Killer prevents zombies from reviving, which is useful when a stage’s revival mechanic is a significant threat. This utility is separate from Weaken and can make Thaumaturge Cat worth considering even when its damage is not the reason for bringing it.

Secondary hazard defenses
The unit database also lists immunity to Wave and 50% resistance to Freeze and Curse. These defenses may help in stages featuring those hazards, but they are supporting benefits rather than a reason on their own to deploy the unit.
Why it is not a universal carry
Thaumaturge Cat deals low damage and attacks one target at a time. The database displays a 4.37-second attack cycle in its shown level-50 configuration. If weaker enemies stand in front, an attack can land on one of them instead of weakening the more dangerous enemy behind. That combination makes it a poor choice for fast crowd clearing or stages where you need strong damage output.

When should you use it?
- Bring it when reducing the attack power of eligible enemies would make a dangerous push easier to manage.
- Consider it when Zombie Killer directly answers a stage’s revival threat.
- Pair it with units that clear weaker enemies if they are likely to absorb its single-target attacks.
- Look elsewhere when the stage chiefly demands quick area damage, high offensive pressure, or a more specialized counter.
When comparing it with another support unit, check whether its effect applies to the stage’s enemies, how often and reliably that effect lands, whether its attacks are single-target or area, and how its range and hazard defenses fit the matchup. The available sources do not establish a universal tier ranking.
