Forza Horizon 5’s main Mexico map is commonly estimated at about 107 square kilometres (41 square miles), but that figure is a rounded third-party estimate—not an official measured specification. Playground Games’ official comparison is that the map is about one-and-a-half times the size of Forza Horizon 4’s map.
What is the map’s estimated area?
Pro Game Guides reported an area of roughly 107 km² (41 mi²) in 2021. The guide describes the figures as rounded but does not explain how it calculated them or identify a primary source for the measurement. Treat the number as an estimate, not a precise boundary measurement or a figure confirmed by Playground Games. Pro Game Guides’ map-size estimate
Playground Games’ published description gives no exact area for the main Mexico map. Its official size claim is comparative: the map is “about one-and-a-half times the size of Forza Horizon 4’s.” That establishes a relative comparison, not a square-kilometre measurement. Why does the map feel so varied?
Playground Games describes the world as having 11 distinct biomes and as the largest and most diverse open world in a Forza Horizon game at the time of publication. Its examples include desert, jungle, coast, farmland, canyon, the city of Guanajuato and a volcano. Biome count describes environmental variety; it does not establish map area or road length. Does Rally Adventure count toward the Mexico map size?
No. Rally Adventure adds the separate Sierra Nueva location. Playground Games gives that expansion map as 6.25 square miles (16.2 km²), with 38 miles (61 km) of roads. Those figures describe Sierra Nueva, not the main Mexico map, and should not be added to the 107 km² third-party estimate without explicitly discussing combined playable areas. Area, roads and relative size are different measures
- Area measures the space covered, in square kilometres or square miles.
- Road length measures the length of the road network. The reviewed official sources do not state a total road length for the main Mexico map.
- Relative size is the developer’s comparison with Forza Horizon 4; it is not an exact area figure.
- Scope distinguishes the main Mexico map from separate expansion locations such as Sierra Nueva.
These measures answer different questions: road mileage cannot be inferred from area, and an expansion map’s dimensions do not describe the main map.
