Ubisoft does not publish a fixed wait time for a temporary account lock. The company says it will email you when the sanction is lifted and that it cannot remove temporary locks. Check the email address on your account for that notice rather than relying on a particular number of minutes, hours, or days.
What to do while your Ubisoft account is temporarily locked
- Stop making repeated sign-in attempts. Ubisoft says too many failed login attempts can be one possible reason for a temporary lock. It also locks accounts when it detects fraudulent activity. If you have not recently tried to make a purchase, failed attempts may be relevant, but Ubisoft does not identify the cause of every lock. Ubisoft’s temporary-lock guidance does not provide a timer or say repeated attempts will clear the restriction.
- Watch the email associated with your Ubisoft account. Ubisoft says you will receive an email once the sanction has been lifted. The email is its stated indication that you can try signing in again.
- Do not assume a password reset will remove the lock. Ubisoft says it cannot remove temporary locks; its guidance does not promise that changing your password or waiting a particular duration will clear one.
A temporary account lock affects Ubisoft access broadly: Ubisoft says a locked account cannot access its online games or services or log in to Ubisoft websites. See Ubisoft’s account-lock information for the scope of account restrictions.
Make sure it is an account lock, not a game ban
A game-specific ban is not necessarily a Ubisoft account lock. Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege support guidance distinguishes a temporary ban in that game from a temporary account lock; a game ban may still leave access to other Ubisoft websites, games, or services intact. If only one game is unavailable, consult that game’s support guidance before treating it as a full account lock.
What to do after access is restored
Once Ubisoft’s release notice arrives and you can sign in, change your password and enable 2-Step verification, as Ubisoft recommends. If Ubisoft says your account is permanently locked
A permanent lock is different from a temporary one. Ubisoft says that if you believe a permanent lock was applied in error, you may contact support to appeal it. That appeal route is not described as a way to shorten a temporary lock. You can start with the Ubisoft Help portal for account topics.
