The closest estimates for a completionist-style base-game run are 45 and 48 hours. Stash reports 45 hours based on 96 answers, while IsThereAnyDeal displays a 48-hour completionist estimate attributed to HowLongToBeat. They use different tracking methods, and the available figures do not establish that their completion rules are identical.

For context, the same IsThereAnyDeal listing shows 18 hours for the main story and 31 hours for the main story plus side content. Those are separate playtime categories, not alternative definitions of 100%.
What counts as “100%”?
Players may mean different things by completion: finishing the story, clearing optional content, satisfying a completionist tracker, earning every platform achievement or trophy, or including add-ons. These targets are not interchangeable. The estimates above should be read as tracker categories, not as a verified official checklist for Far Cry 5’s in-game completion percentage.

TrueAchievements estimates 40–50 hours to complete all 50 base-game Xbox achievements. This estimate is based on the modal completion time reported by 1,233 members and explicitly excludes DLC. It is a platform-achievement estimate, so it is useful if that is your goal—not a substitute for a completionist estimate across every platform or activity.

Does the estimate include DLC?
Do not assume that a base-game completion estimate includes add-ons. TrueAchievements lists these DLC completion estimates separately:

These are separate estimates, not a verified total for completing every base-game and add-on activity together. Ubisoft’s store lists the DLC separately from Far Cry 5 editions, and its Hours of Darkness announcement describes additional content, including weapons usable in the main campaign and modes unlocked after completing the add-on. That confirms the DLC adds distinct play; it does not show that DLC is required for the base game’s 100% label.

- Completionist-style base game: set aside about 45–48 hours, treating the figure as an estimate rather than a promise.
- All base-game Xbox achievements: use 40–50 hours as the relevant estimate; DLC is excluded.
- Including DLC: budget separately for the add-ons, using their individual estimates above rather than assuming they are part of a base-game figure.
Your actual time can vary with pace and with what you count as complete. A guide is optional help, not a requirement; a listing for the Far Cry 5 Official Collector’s Edition Guide advertises a “100% Complete Walkthrough,” but current stock and coverage of later versions are not established here.
