There is no single charging time for every Turtle Beach Stealth 600. The current Stealth 600 Gen 3 has an advertised battery life of up to 80 hours and supports quick charging, but Turtle Beach does not publish an exact full-charge duration on its current product page. Gen 2 models advertise 15 hours of battery life, while certain Gen 2 USB listings claim up to eight hours of use after a 15-minute charge.
Older or original Stealth 600 models are often estimated to take roughly three to four hours to charge from empty, but that is third-party guidance—not a universal Turtle Beach specification.

The short answer
| Model | Advertised battery life | Official full-charge time | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stealth 600 Gen 3 | Up to 80 hours | Not specified on the current product page | Turtle Beach advertises quick charging, but gives no precise duration |
| Stealth 600 Gen 2 Xbox | 15 hours | Not stated in the quick-start guide | Use the charging LED and your headset’s status indication |
| Stealth 600 Gen 2 PlayStation | 15 hours | Not stated in the quick-start guide | Charge through USB-C and check the model-specific guide |
| Stealth 600 Gen 2 USB | Varies by listing | Not presented as a universal figure | A Turtle Beach refurbished listing claims up to eight hours from 15 minutes |
| Original Stealth 600 | Varies by edition | Not verified as a universal figure | Third-party guidance commonly estimates about three to four hours |
The important distinction is that battery life is not charging time. An “80-hour battery” describes expected operating time, not how long the headset must remain connected to power.
For the most accurate answer, identify whether you own the original model, Gen 2, Gen 2 USB, or Gen 3 before relying on a charging estimate.

Identify your Stealth 600 generation
Stealth 600 Gen 3
The current Stealth 600 family is Gen 3. Turtle Beach lists an 80-hour battery, 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, QuickSwitch functionality, and a USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable. The product page says “quick charge,” but it does not state an exact time for a full recharge or a specific amount of playtime from a 15-minute charge. See the official Stealth 600 Gen 3 product page.
Stealth 600 Gen 2
Gen 2 Xbox and PlayStation guides describe a rechargeable 15-hour battery and USB-C charging. Xbox and PlayStation versions use different wireless arrangements, but both charge through the headset’s USB charging port. Consult Turtle Beach’s Gen 2 Xbox guide or Gen 2 PlayStation guide.
Stealth 600 Gen 2 USB
This is a distinct variant, so do not automatically apply the standard Gen 2 figures to it. Turtle Beach’s refurbished Gen 2 USB listing specifically claims up to eight hours of battery life from a 15-minute charge. That claim belongs to that product listing and should not be generalized to Gen 3 or every Gen 2 headset.
Original Stealth 600
Older first-generation models have different specifications depending on the edition. Third-party guidance commonly places a full charge at approximately three to four hours, but charging time depends on the remaining battery level, cable, USB source, and battery condition. Treat that range as an estimate rather than an official universal specification.
How to charge the Stealth 600 correctly
- Connect the supplied charging cable to the headset’s USB charge or update port.
- Connect the other end to a suitable powered USB port, such as one on a console, computer, or reputable USB power adapter.
- Make sure both connectors are fully seated.
- Leave the headset connected while its charging indicator shows that charging is in progress.
- When the headset indicates a full charge—or after the expected period for your model—disconnect it and power it on to check the battery status.
You do not generally need to charge a Stealth 600 from a console. Turtle Beach’s documentation identifies the supplied USB charging cable and compatible powered USB sources; it does not establish a universal console-only requirement.
The Gen 3 package includes a 0.7-meter/2.3-foot USB-A-to-USB-C cable. Gen 2 Xbox and PlayStation materials identify USB-C charging cables. Use the supplied cable where possible.
How to tell when it is fully charged
For the Stealth 600 Gen 2 Xbox, Turtle Beach documents these LED states:

- Solid red: the headset is charging.
- Breathing green: the battery is full while the headset is powered on.
- LED off: the battery is fully charged when the headset is powered off.
- Breathing red: the battery is low.
Those light behaviors come from the Gen 2 Xbox guide and should not automatically be applied to every generation or platform variant. If your Gen 3 or PlayStation headset behaves differently, check its exact support documentation rather than assuming the LED means the same thing.
Charging time by model
Stealth 600 Gen 3
Turtle Beach confirms up to 80 hours of battery life and a quick-charge feature, but the currently available product information does not provide a precise full-charge duration. It would be misleading to state that Gen 3 takes a fixed number of hours.
Actual runtime can vary with factors such as wireless mode, Bluetooth use, volume, microphone use, and battery age. A short top-up will also take less time than charging from completely empty.
Stealth 600 Gen 2 Xbox and PlayStation
Both standard Gen 2 platform guides specify approximately 15 hours of battery life, but the surfaced official guides do not state an exact time for a complete recharge. Charge until the model’s indicator shows full rather than treating 15 hours of runtime as a charging-time figure.

Stealth 600 Gen 2 USB
The most specific quick-charge figure in the supplied product information is for Turtle Beach’s refurbished Gen 2 USB listing: up to eight hours of use after 15 minutes of charging. This is useful for that particular variant, but it is not evidence that every Stealth 600 gains eight hours from the same short charge.
Original Stealth 600
For older, unspecified Stealth 600 models, third-party guidance suggests roughly three to four hours for a full charge. Use that only as a planning estimate. A headset that was already partly charged may finish sooner, while an aged battery or poor connection may take longer or fail to charge consistently.
How much playtime does a short charge provide?
- Gen 2 USB: Turtle Beach’s refurbished product listing claims up to eight hours from 15 minutes of charging.
- Gen 3: Turtle Beach advertises quick charging but does not currently publish an exact 15-minute runtime figure on the product page.
- Standard Gen 2 Xbox and PlayStation: The official guides confirm 15 hours of total battery life, but do not establish a universal 15-minute quick-charge result.
“Up to” figures are maximum claims under stated or favorable conditions, not a guarantee for every charge cycle. Battery age, usage, and connection mode can reduce the result.

Why your headset may be charging slowly
- Cable problems: A damaged, loose, or poor-quality cable can make charging intermittent or prevent it entirely.
- USB-port problems: Try another known-good powered USB port if the current port is unstable or not supplying reliable power.
- Using the headset: Charging while the headset is operating can take longer than charging it while powered off.
- Battery age: An older lithium-polymer battery may hold less charge, drain rapidly, or appear to recharge unusually quickly.
- Firmware: Firmware problems can affect battery reporting or operation. Gen 2 guides direct users to Turtle Beach’s Audio Hub for Windows or Mac; Gen 3 uses the Swarm II ecosystem for customization and updates.
Turtle Beach does not publish a universal wattage, USB-PD requirement, or maximum charging rate for the entire Stealth 600 family, so avoid assuming that a higher-power charger will make a compatible headset charge faster.
What to do if the Stealth 600 will not charge
- Reseat the cable. Disconnect and reconnect both ends firmly.
- Try another cable. Use a known-good compatible USB cable, preferably the supplied cable if it is undamaged.
- Try another power source. Test a different powered USB port on a console, computer, or reputable adapter.
- Inspect the port. Look for debris, looseness, bent parts, or physical damage. Do not force the connector into the port.
- Allow time for a completely drained battery. Leave it connected for several minutes before deciding that no charging is occurring.
- Watch the LED. No charging light suggests a cable, port, power-source, or battery problem. A charging light followed by immediate battery loss points more toward battery aging, firmware, or hardware trouble.
- Update firmware. Use Audio Hub for Gen 2 or the appropriate Swarm II software for Gen 3. An update may help with reporting or operation, but it is not guaranteed to repair a physical charging fault.
Contact Turtle Beach support if multiple cables and USB ports produce the same result, the headset becomes unusually hot, the battery swells or leaks, it smells unusual, the port only works at a particular angle, or battery life has sharply declined.
Do not open the headset or attempt an internal lithium-polymer battery replacement without appropriate manufacturer guidance. Stop using a headset with signs of battery damage.
Can you use the Stealth 600 while charging?
The headset can be physically connected to a charging cable while powered on, but the practical behavior may differ by generation and platform. The available official information does not establish a universal policy guaranteeing uninterrupted wireless use while charging. For the fastest and most reliable recharge, power the headset off whenever possible.
Battery care and storage
For Gen 2, Turtle Beach advises charging the headset before storing it for more than three months and not storing it above 113°F/45°C. The Gen 2 PlayStation guide also documents a fixed 10-minute auto-shutdown when no audio plays, which is intended to conserve battery and does not necessarily indicate a fault.

Do not assume every Gen 3 behavior or storage limit is identical unless its own documentation says so. Avoid heat, damaged cables, and physical stress on the charging port.
Should you replace the headset?
If the only problem is a lost or damaged cable, first try a reputable compatible USB-A-to-USB-C cable rather than replacing the headset. If several cables and power sources fail, or the battery has become severely degraded, replacement may be more practical than repair.
The Stealth 600 Gen 3 is the current model and offers the largest advertised battery capacity in this family—up to 80 hours—along with 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.2. However, its product page still does not promise a specific full-charge time. Choose it for the longer claimed runtime and connectivity features, not because an exact recharge duration has been published.
