World Tour+, Cut the Rope 3, Crossword Jam+, and NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition.
Apple’s announcement also emphasized that Apple Arcade games were included with the subscription without advertisements or in-app purchases. Availability could vary by region, hardware, and software version.

The four new Apple Arcade games
Jeopardy! World Tour+ — October 6
Jeopardy! World Tour+ adapts the familiar Jeopardy! quiz-show format for mobile play. Apple described the game as offering thousands of categories, competitive progression, and leaderboards, with sessions designed for playing either at home or on the go.
#1 Best Overall
- With broad game support, the Logitech Gamepad F310 works with old standbys to today's biggest titles, so it's easy to set up and use with your favorite games.
- Profiler software allows the gamepad to be programmed to perform keyboard and mouse commands for games without gamepad support.* * Requires software installation.
- A familiar control layout that doesn't require a learning curve to be able to use, with all the same buttons as on an Xbox 360.
- The unique floating D-pad rests on four switches-instead of a single pivot point-making it responsive to quick changes in direction.
- The six-foot cord lets you lean back and play a comfortable distance from your PC monitor.
That makes it the most immediately recognizable choice for trivia players in this group. “True Jeopardy! experience” was Apple’s promotional wording, however, rather than an independent review judgment. The “+” designation also identifies the Apple Arcade version; readers should not assume it has an identical release history or feature set to other App Store versions.
Cut the Rope 3 — October 13
Cut the Rope 3 is a new chapter in the physics-puzzle franchise. In Apple’s description, Om Nom and Nibble Nom discover a mysterious map and travel through new areas, facing new levels, creatures, and physics-based challenges while retaining the series’ familiar mechanics.
The game was aimed at players who prefer short, tactile puzzle stages rather than a large sports or role-playing experience. Apple also said the broader Cut the Rope franchise had surpassed 1.6 billion downloads. That figure is Apple’s claim about the franchise and should not be treated as an independently verified current lifetime total.
Crossword Jam+ — October 20
Crossword Jam+ uses swipe-and-connect wordplay rather than a traditional newspaper-style crossword grid. Its design includes daily challenges, scenic locations, and progressively greater difficulty as players advance.

Native Linux system plug-and-play support is not available, while SDK development documents are provided for custom secondary development
It was the month’s clearest fit for casual word-game players who wanted a repeatable daily routine. Apple presented the game as relaxing, but that is marketing language rather than an objective evaluation. Through Apple Arcade, the full game was offered without advertisements or in-app purchases.
NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition — October 24
NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition was the month’s most feature-heavy release and the main attraction for basketball fans. Allen Iverson appeared on the cover as part of the NBA 2K franchise’s 25th-anniversary tribute.
The game’s MyCAREER mode lets players create and develop a basketball character. Apple highlighted endorsements and extensive customization, including shoes, accessories, outfits, tattoos, and the ability to customize MyCOURT. Players could also use current NBA stars and basketball legends.

- Greatest mode: a mode built around historical players and basketball scenarios.
- Fantasy-team challenge: a way to assemble and test teams beyond a standard current-roster matchup.
- NBA Today: features tied to the contemporary NBA season as described in the 2023 announcement.
- Spectator mode and Game Center invitations: social features intended to support watching and inviting others to play.
These features were announced for the game in 2023. Online services, seasonal systems, and social functionality can change over time, so the announcement is not proof that every feature remains unchanged.
More than 30 existing games also received updates
October’s announcement was not limited to four new games. Apple said more than 30 existing Apple Arcade titles were scheduled for updates. That figure refers to updates to games already in the service, not to 30 additional new releases.
Apple specifically highlighted these examples:
- Cooking Mama: Cuisine!: Halloween-themed treats.
- Fruit Ninja Classic+: a Halloween Blade available in the Abandoned Dojo.
- Cityscapes: Sim Builder: a citywide festival celebrating the Day of the Dead.
These were examples, not the complete update slate. Apple’s announcement did not provide a reliable complete list in the material cited here, so it would be misleading to present the three named games as the only titles updated. The updates generally gave existing subscribers seasonal content, new items, events, challenges, or other additions, but the exact changes depended on each game.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Compatibility and availability caveats
- Apple Arcade supports Apple platforms, but individual games can have different hardware and software requirements.
- Apple’s promotional image showed the games on Apple TV, a sixth-generation iPad Pro, an iPhone 15 Pro, and a MacBook. That does not prove that every title supported every Apple device.
- Regional availability and release timing can differ.
- Apple Arcade inclusion should not be confused with availability of a separate, standalone App Store version.
- The October 2023 announcement does not establish the current Apple Arcade catalog, current pricing, or the present status of online features.
Who was the October lineup for?
Basketball fans had the clearest reason to look at the month’s releases: NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition combined career development, customization, current players, legends, and season-related features.

For existing subscribers, the update slate may have mattered more than the four new games—particularly if they already played Fruit Ninja Classic+, Cooking Mama: Cuisine!, or Cityscapes: Sim Builder.
Was the October 2023 lineup enough to justify Apple Arcade?
The answer depended on what a subscriber wanted. The month offered genre variety, but the four new games were not equal in scale: NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition was the large, feature-rich release, while the other three focused on familiar casual formats. The more-than-30-update slate added value for people already invested in the catalog.
Apple Arcade’s ad-free, no-in-app-purchase model was another meaningful distinction, but it did not guarantee that every subscriber would find a compelling game. Readers seeking basketball, trivia, word puzzles, or physics-based challenges had clear reasons to pay attention; players wanting permanent ownership or major console and PC releases had a different set of priorities.
In short, Apple’s October 2023 lineup was strongest for basketball fans and existing subscribers who valued ongoing seasonal content, while the other releases broadened the month’s appeal to casual players.
