A full in-game season in Assassin’s Creed Shadows can take up to about 180 minutes—roughly three hours—of play, according to Game8’s guide. Treat that as an estimate, not a fixed timer: Ubisoft has not published an exact official duration in the sources available.
What does “season” mean in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
It means the in-world cycle of spring, summer, autumn and winter that changes the game’s environment—not a live-service season or a period of post-launch support. Ubisoft has used “Story Drops” for post-launch additions and announced Claws of Awaji as an expansion; those are separate from the world’s seasonal cycle. Ubisoft’s post-launch roadmap update discusses that content plan.
How the in-game season cycle works
Each named season has two stages, or half-seasons. PowerPyx says transitions become available after time has passed, while Game8 describes a season meter and transitions at the halfway point and at the full-season change. Taken together, this means the cycle advances through play rather than following a real-world calendar.
The guides do not establish one guaranteed wall-clock duration for every player or play style. The roughly three-hour figure is best read as a guide-reported upper estimate for a full named season, not a promise that every player will see a transition at exactly the same time. Ubisoft’s cited official materials do not specify an exact in-game season duration.
