Bandai Namco has not published a verified completion-time estimate for the base game Tales of Arise. For its story expansion, Beyond the Dawn, the publisher gives an estimate of around 20 hours, also described as over 20 hours of additional gameplay. That figure is for the expansion alone—not the full game.
How long is Tales of Arise?
The official Bandai Namco sources cited here do not give a confirmed playtime for completing the base game, whether you focus on the main story, take on side content, or aim to complete everything. There is therefore no official number to use for the base game, and the expansion’s estimate should not be applied to it.

How long is Beyond the Dawn?
Bandai Namco describes Beyond the Dawn as providing around 20 hours of content on its Europe product page. Its America descriptions characterize it as 20+ hours or over 20 hours of additional gameplay. These are publisher estimates for the expansion; they are not a measured guarantee of how long any individual player will take.

What does the expansion add?
Beyond the Dawn is a story expansion set one year after Tales of Arise ends. It continues the party’s story and introduces Nazamil, the daughter of a Renan Lord and a Dahnan. Bandai Namco also lists new areas, quests, dungeons, and boss fights among its additions.
The expansion launched on November 9, 2023, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco’s America page also lists a Nintendo Switch 2 edition released May 22, 2026. Check the current regional listing for platform and edition availability.

Is Beyond the Dawn a sequel?
It is a direct continuation of the main story, but it is downloadable content for Tales of Arise, not evidence of a separately announced, numbered sequel. Yusuke Tomizawa, General Producer at Bandai Namco, called it “the first DLC in the Tales of series that is a direct continuation of the main story in this scale.”

Tomizawa also explained that the expansion does not simply carry over the player’s base-game level and status. Players start at a designed level; clear data can provide bonuses such as money and skill points. This makes the expansion’s progression a prepared starting point rather than an uninterrupted continuation of the player’s exact endgame build.

Bandai Namco lists the expansion for separate purchase as well as a complete Beyond the Dawn edition. If buying the expansion separately, the base game is required. Before purchasing, confirm that the listing is for your platform and check whether it includes the base game or only the add-on.

Does Bandai Namco confirm another Tales of Arise game?
The official materials cited here establish Beyond the Dawn as a substantial story expansion, but do not establish a separate, numbered Tales of Arise sequel. An interview headline about developing a sequel to a popular title is not, by itself, an announcement of another game in the series.
