That is only the prestige fee: it does not include the Bloodpoints you spend buying Bloodweb nodes to reach level 50.
What does the 20,000-BP cost cover?
It pays for the prestige action at the center of the level 50 Bloodweb. Behaviour Interactive’s 6.1.0 Mid-Chapter patch notes state that reaching level 51 requires prestiging and costs 20,000 Bloodpoints. The action renews that character’s progression at level 1.
The 20,000 BP is not the cost of taking a fresh character from level 1 through level 50. You first spend BP on Bloodweb nodes as you progress, then pay the separate 20,000-BP fee to prestige.
Is there a fixed total from level 1 to Prestige 1?
No universal all-in total is established by the cited sources. Bloodweb spending depends on the nodes you choose, and the sources do not provide one complete current cost for every possible route to level 50. For your character, the total is the BP spent buying Bloodweb nodes through level 50, plus 20,000 BP for the prestige node.

The Bloodweb interface can show the BP needed for a selected node path. In the 6.7.0 Mid-Chapter notes, BHVR also describes center-node automation after Prestige 1: it attempts to spend as little as possible while prioritizing perks. That can help with later Bloodwebs, but it does not establish a universal cost for reaching level 50.
Why do some older answers say 50,000 BP?
That was the proposed prestige-node price in the 6.1.0 public test build, not the final cost. BHVR reduced it to 20,000 BP in the final 6.1.0 Mid-Chapter notes. The same 2022 update history also matters for estimates of leveling costs: BHVR’s August 23, 2022 Developer Update says Bloodweb node costs were reduced by roughly 33% with the Resident Evil: PROJECT W Chapter. That reduction concerns Bloodweb nodes, not the prestige-node fee.

What do prestige levels unlock?
Prestige has rewards beyond resetting progression. BHVR’s prestige explainer describes the rewards this way:
- Prestige 1, 2 and 3: Unlock the character’s unique perks at tiers 1, 2 and 3, respectively, for other characters in the same role—Killers or Survivors.
- Prestige 4, 5 and 6: Unlock bloodied cosmetics.
- Prestige 7, 8 and 9: Unlock perk charms.
BHVR’s 6.1.0 notes also say prestiging no longer removes the character’s already unlocked items, add-ons, offerings, perks or perk slots.
