Guild Wars 1 has 10 playable classes, officially called professions: six from the original campaign, two added in Factions, and two added in Nightfall. Eye of the North adds no new professions.
Guild Wars 1’s 10 professions
Guild Wars uses “profession” for the character choice other role-playing games often call a class. A profession defines a character’s skills, attributes, and armor. ArenaNet’s manual describes the game as offering “up to ten professions to choose from.” ArenaNet’s Guild Wars manual explains the character system; the Guild Wars Wiki entry on professions explains the terminology.

The campaign-by-campaign roster is listed by ArenaNet’s Guild Wars Game & Expansions support page and in the manual.
Why Eye of the North does not increase the count
Eye of the North is an expansion, but it did not introduce a playable profession. It adds content such as skills, heroes, regions, dungeons, and armor sets. Its manual says it does not include character creation, and ArenaNet’s expansion listing does not identify any new professions. The total therefore remains 10.

How primary and secondary professions work
A character selects a primary profession and can later choose a secondary profession. This lets players combine skills from two professions, but it does not create additional professions: the roster remains the same 10. The primary choice matters for attributes and armor, while profession choices shape access to skills and combat styles.
ArenaNet’s Factions and Nightfall campaign pages each cite 56 unique dual-profession combinations in their campaign contexts. That is a count of combinations, not a count of individual professions or characters.
