There are 20 Memory Lockets in Hollow Knight: Silksong. They unlock tool slots in Crests, and two have alternate Act 3 locations if you miss their earlier opportunities. This spoiler-heavy checklist follows the Hollow Knight Wiki’s numbering; its location details are community-maintained, not official Team Cherry documentation. Hollow Knight Wiki and Gamer Guides each list 20 locations.
All 20 Memory Locket locations
The first two conditional entries below are alternate outcomes for the same locket, not additional items. Use the location and landmark rather than comparing item numbers across guides: Gamer Guides also lists 20, but its numbering and descriptions do not consistently match the wiki’s order.

What Memory Lockets unlock
Memory Lockets unlock Red, Blue, and Yellow tool slots in Crests. Use one from the Crest menu; you do not need to sit at a bench. A locket unlocks a slot rather than functioning as an equipped tool itself. The Hollow Knight Wiki also says slot unlocks can count toward Eva’s upgrades: its listed thresholds are 12, 20, 27, and 32 unlocked slots. Those counts include unlocked tool and Silk Skill slots, but exclude Hunter Crest slots and lockets still unused in your inventory. Source: Hollow Knight Wiki

How many do you need for Eva or completion?

Before retracing areas, check your current Act and which conditional entries you already resolved. The Mort/Grindle purchase and the Volatile Flintbeetles wish reward have Act 3 alternatives if missed earlier, so they do not add extra lockets to the total. For other pickups, check the table for movement abilities, keys, purchases, the wish, or boss victories that gate access.
