Who is making Silksong?
Team Cherry’s official Silksong website describes the studio as a three-person team and names its members:

The studio says its members also handle work beyond making the game, including building its websites and cutting trailers. Team Cherry is based in Adelaide, South Australia.
Does that mean only three people contributed?
No. The official figure describes Team Cherry’s named team; it does not establish the total number of people involved across all outside collaborators, contractors, testers, voice performers, or other contributors. Team Cherry has not published a comprehensive all-contributor headcount in the cited sources, so the full production total remains unknown.

Why can a small team make a large game?
Team Cherry has described Silksong as a large game created by a tiny team. In a Unity feature about the original Hollow Knight, the studio credited Unity’s engine as making it possible to create large games and deliver them across many platforms. Unity later said Silksong was prepared for Unity 6; neither statement changes the official three-person team count.
In an interview reported by ABC News on 5 September 2025, Ari Gibson said development had been progressing continuously, but a small team and the time games take explained the long wait. His comment is context about the schedule, not a different staffing figure.
