Is the Galaxy bundle cheaper than buying both separately?

When did the Switch versions come out, and what formats are available?

The company announced a combined physical Nintendo Switch game card and separate digital releases; the prices above apply to Nintendo of America’s digital listings, not the physical card. What changed in the Switch releases?
Nintendo describes these as enhanced versions, rather than claiming they are full remakes. The company says both games have enhanced resolution and an improved interface, offer button-and-stick or motion controls, and add Storybook content and an in-game music player. Nintendo summarized the additions as: “Both titles feature improved UI, the option to play with button and stick or motion controls, an in-game music player, new Storybook content and enhanced resolution.”
The games remain distinct adventures: in Super Mario Galaxy, Mario searches for Power Stars and sets out to rescue Peach alongside Rosalina and the Lumas. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario travels with Yoshi aboard Starship Mario. Nintendo’s US product information describes both games and their features.

Does the collection support 4K on Switch 2?
Nintendo says a free update enables 4K output for both titles on Nintendo Switch 2 when connected to a compatible display. The product information lists 1080p on Nintendo Switch and 4K on Switch 2; the original Switch does not offer the collection’s 4K output. Nintendo Support lists Super Mario Galaxy update version 1.3.1, released February 5, 2026, and says version 1.2.0 or later is required to play that game on Switch 2. That support detail is specifically for Super Mario Galaxy, not confirmation of the update version for both games. See Nintendo Support’s update information.
