Epic Games Store charges a $100 USD submission fee per product, or the equivalent in local currency, plus local taxes where applicable. You pay during product setup. Epic says the fee is recouped in a later payment after that product earns at least $1,000 from qualifying Epic Games Store purchases and in-game purchases made through Epic Payment Platform. That is the direct store submission charge—not a budget for developing, operating, or marketing the game.

What the $100 fee covers

Epic’s developer documentation says to pay a $100 USD submission fee, or local-currency equivalent, for each product you intend to distribute. Local taxes may apply. The fee and the related questionnaire are handled per product, so multiple products mean multiple submission fees. See Epic’s Manage Your Organization documentation for the fee and onboarding requirements.

The fee is paid upfront and is described as non-refundable. Epic also says it is recouped in a payment after that product reaches $1,000 in qualifying revenue from Epic Games Store purchases and in-game purchases using Epic Payment Platform. In other words, reaching the threshold does not waive the initial charge; the recoup comes later through a payment.

Other costs to budget for

The $100 charge is the fixed submission fee established in Epic’s documentation. It does not price the work of making or bringing a game to market. Depending on the project, separate costs may include development, localization, ratings, porting, customer support, legal or accounting work, and marketing. Epic’s publishing overview does not list a separate fixed review charge, but that should not be read as proof that the full publishing process has no other costs: staff time and production or marketing budgets are outside the stated fee.

Before distribution, developers also need to complete organization agreements and provide trader, tax, and payout information. Epic describes a publishing flow that includes onboarding, creating an early-awareness product home page, final configuration and testing, final review, and release. Completion times are general guidance and can vary with business needs, request volume, and configuration complexity. See Epic’s publishing overview.

Store price is separate from the submission fee

Choosing what customers pay is a separate decision from paying to submit the product. Epic offers regional price suggestions and supports custom regional price tiers subject to review. Its pricing guidance says regional prices take exchange rates, local purchasing power, and market norms into account; it also says regional prices may be reviewed as economic conditions change. Epic’s documentation lists 43 supported local currencies, but the current list can change. See Epic’s pricing documentation.

Epic says developers should consider production costs, target audience, perceived value, and comparable products when setting a price. Regional pricing choices and restrictions around price changes near discounts affect revenue planning, but they are not additional upfront listing fees.

Do not assume a revenue-share headline applies to your game

An Epic Developer Community announcement headlines 100% of the first $1 million per product per year and also references an 88% revenue share and Epic First Run. Those figures are program headlines, not a universal guarantee or enough information to forecast a particular game’s proceeds. The announcement page does not establish the complete eligibility rules or calculation details. Check the current distribution agreement and program terms before using a revenue-share figure in a financial plan: Epic Developer Community announcements.
