If by “PS game catalog” you mean the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, new games are added once a month, generally around the middle of the month. The number of games varies, and the exact date and lineup can differ by region. This is separate from PlayStation Plus Essential Monthly Games, which refresh at the beginning of the month.
When do new PS Plus Extra games come out?
Sony describes the Game Catalog refresh for Extra and Premium/Deluxe as taking place in the middle of each month. That is general schedule guidance, not a promise of a particular day. Official 2026 announcements, for example, were published on June 10, July 15, August 12 and September 9. The dates illustrate the pattern but do not establish a fixed calendar.
Sony also says the number of games in each refresh varies. There is no guaranteed monthly title count.
Game Catalog vs. Essential Monthly Games

These are separate benefits, so the beginning-of-month schedule for Monthly Games does not tell you when to expect Game Catalog additions. Sony’s current US page calls the top tier Premium; tier names and features may differ by market, so check your local PlayStation Plus page.

How to check this month’s games
- Open the official PlayStation Plus What’s New page for current additions. It lists catalog updates separately from Monthly Games and game trials.
- Check the PlayStation.Blog PlayStation Plus archive for the month’s announcement and release details.
- Confirm availability on your local PlayStation Plus page; titles and dates can vary by region.
Does every refresh include PS4 games?
No. The current US PlayStation Plus games page says that, from January 2026, PS4 games will be added only intermittently. A monthly refresh does not mean a PS4 title will appear every month.
What if you mean the PlayStation Store?
“PS game catalog” can also mean the full PlayStation Store selection of games for purchase. The monthly cadence described here applies to the subscription Game Catalog, not the entire Store; the official sources cited here do not establish a recurring schedule for additions to the full purchasable catalog.
