Hornet’s exact age is never stated in Hollow Knight. The story establishes that she was born before Hallownest fell and survived into the events set among its ruins, but it gives no number of years.
What Hollow Knight establishes about Hornet’s age
Hornet is the daughter of Herrah the Beast and the Pale King. Her birth was part of the bargain connected to Herrah becoming a Dreamer, and she spent little time with her mother, according to the Hollow Knight character reference. That origin places her life before the kingdom’s fall, but does not date her birth.
The character reference also describes Hornet surviving the Infection and Hallownest’s fall, then wandering the ruins and guarding the Black Egg’s seal and other locations. This establishes a sequence of events, not an age in years. The sources provide no calendar date for her birth, age range, or conversion to human years.
Does “the Knight’s older sister” tell us her age?
A narrative review hosted by GDC Vault describes Hornet as the Knight’s older sister. That is a relative family description: it indicates she is older than the Knight, but does not establish their age gap or either character’s age in years.

What is the safest answer?
Canon does not give Hornet a specific age. She was born before Hallownest fell and survived into the events of Hollow Knight, but the game does not say how many years old she is. Any precise number or human-equivalent age should be treated as a fan estimate, not an established fact.
