The team worked its way through the bracket to face FaZe Clan in the grand finals, where it won the first set 4–1 and the reset set 4–0.
How OpTic’s run began
OpTic’s first-round loss to Spacestation sent the team into the Elimination Bracket. The official HCS recap describes the team’s route as a rally from Round 1; Insider Gaming’s May 26, 2025 recap calls it a lower-bracket run. These refer to the same comeback path through the tournament.
Rather than ending its Dallas run, the loss left OpTic needing to win its way through the elimination side of the bracket to reach the final. The official HCS event page identifies Dallas as the second official HCS LAN of 2025 and names the tournament the HCS Dallas Open at DreamHack.
The route to the grand finals
Insider Gaming reported that OpTic advanced past six teams before reaching the final stretch. The team then beat Shopify Rebellion and TSM without dropping a map, setting up a grand-final matchup with FaZe Clan.

Why the final needed a reset
OpTic defeated FaZe 4–1 in the first grand-final set, according to Insider Gaming. Because FaZe came from the winners’ side of the bracket, that loss did not end its tournament; the result triggered a grand-final reset. OpTic then won the reset set 4–0 to secure the championship. Official HCS confirms the reset and OpTic’s win, while the set scores are reported by Insider Gaming.
Official HCS summed up the finish: “After falling to Round 1 of the Elimination Bracket, OpTic Gaming rallies back resetting the Grand Finals and defeating FaZe Clan for all the glory!”
