The headline combines two different Call of Duty League championships. OpTic Texas and Vancouver Surge were named as the teams in a 2025 Champs grand-final video listing; the 2026 championship final was OpTic Texas versus FaZe Vegas, and OpTic lost 2–5. The official schedule separately shows OpTic beating Riyadh Falcons 3–1 earlier on July 19, 2026.
What happened in the 2025 Champs matchup?
A June 29, 2025 video listing by Scump is titled “CALL OF DUTY CHAMPS 2025 GRAND FINALS!! – OpTic TEXAS VS VANCOUVER SURGE.” That supports placing the Vancouver Surge matchup in the 2025 Champs final context. The listing does not establish the final score or map-by-map results, so those details cannot be confirmed from it. See the video listing.
What was OpTic Texas’s 2026 championship result?
The Call of Duty League’s official 2026 schedule records FaZe Vegas beating OpTic Texas 5–2 in the championship final on July 19, 2026. OpTic therefore did not win the 2026 title, and the result does not support describing the 2026 outcome as an OpTic back-to-back championship. Check the official league schedule.
The Riyadh Falcons match was separate
The same schedule lists OpTic’s 3–1 win over Riyadh Falcons earlier that day. That was a different match, not the championship final against FaZe Vegas.

2025 and 2026 at a glance
| Year | Opponent | What the available record establishes |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | Vancouver Surge | Named as the opponent in a Champs grand-final video listing; final score not established by that listing. |
| 2026 | FaZe Vegas | FaZe Vegas beat OpTic Texas 5–2 in the championship final, according to the official league schedule. |
| 2026, earlier match | Riyadh Falcons | OpTic Texas won 3–1; this was not the final. |
Why the headline needs correction
“OpTic Texas Wins Back-to-Back COD Champs After Beating Vancouver Surge” blends the 2025 Vancouver Surge final context with the 2026 championship. The verified 2026 final result was a loss to FaZe Vegas, not an OpTic win. The 2025 listing identifies the matchup but, on its own, is not enough to confirm a score or establish a back-to-back title claim.
