Poison Strike coats Eivor’s right-hand melee weapon, Ranged Poison Strike coats arrows, and Poisonous Powder Trap creates a mist when nearby movement triggers it. The Miasma skill can then spread poison to nearby enemies when a poisoned foe dies.
How poison gets applied
Each poison option has a distinct delivery method and trigger. The abilities and trap provide ways to inflict poison; Miasma is a separate skill that creates a follow-on cloud after a poison kill.

Which poison option fits the situation?
- Use Poison Strike when you want to apply poison through melee combat. Its upgraded arc can catch multiple enemies.
- Use Ranged Poison Strike when you want to deliver poison with an arrow; its upgrade can affect enemies along the arrow’s path.
- Use Poisonous Powder Trap to leave a hazard at a location and let nearby movement trigger the mist. It is a different kind of setup from directly coating a weapon or arrow.
- Use Miasma as a follow-on effect when poison-killed enemies are near others who may enter the resulting cloud.
These options differ in range, trigger, and potential area effect; the descriptions do not establish that one setup is universally strongest.
Unlocking and using poison abilities
Ubisoft’s beginner tips explain that abilities come from Books of Knowledge, and different books grant or upgrade abilities. Ubisoft gives poison tips on arrows as an example of an ability. The guide does not specify the exact unlock requirements for each poison option.

Abilities consume Eivor’s adrenaline, so using one competes with other ability uses. Ubisoft advises timing ability use accordingly. The cited guidance does not establish a specific adrenaline cost for each poison ability.

The referenced ability descriptions are qualitative. They say Poison Strike deals additional damage over time and describe how the other poison effects spread, but they do not provide dependable figures for damage, duration, tick rate, or buildup thresholds. Those values should not be assumed from the descriptions.
