A librarian can offer an Unbreaking III enchanted book, but the available figures do not establish an exact probability for that specific trade. The often-cited odds describe whether a librarian offers any enchanted book at a given level—not whether that book is Unbreaking III.
What the odds actually measure
The chance of finding an Unbreaking III trade depends on more than whether a book trade appears. The game must first generate an enchanted-book offer, then select the enchantment and its level. A probability for the first step cannot be treated as the probability of the exact Unbreaking III result.
Microsoft Learn confirms that librarians trade enchanted books for emeralds and identifies Unbreaking as an enchantment that reduces the durability damage an item takes (Microsoft Learn, updated January 30, 2025). It does not give the odds of a librarian offering Unbreaking III.
Chance of any enchanted-book offer by edition and level
The Minecraft Wiki reports these chances for a librarian to offer an enchanted-book trade. They are chances of any enchanted book, not specifically Unbreaking III; the cited search result does not show a publication date, and these figures should not be assumed to apply unchanged to every version.

| Journeyman | 2/3 | 1/2 |
| Expert | 1/2 | 1/3 |
These edition-specific rates are reported by the Minecraft Wiki trading reference. They answer whether a book trade appears at the listed level; they do not tell you the odds that the book is Unbreaking III.
Why version and settings matter
Minecraft’s official feedback post describes librarian trade changes as experimental trade-rebalance changes (Minecraft Feedback: Villager Trade Rebalance Preview). That makes edition, game version, and whether the experimental rebalance is enabled relevant to any probability claim. The cited material does not provide enough detail to calculate a dependable exact Unbreaking III chance across current editions and configurations.

What to do with the book
If you obtain an Unbreaking III enchanted book, Microsoft Learn says an anvil can combine an enchanted book with an item. Unbreaking reduces the durability damage the item takes; the precise effect in play depends on the item and game mechanics.
