WEMADE is positioning WEMIX PLAY as a destination for blockchain games, digital assets and related commerce. Calling it “the Steam of blockchain games” captures the company’s ambition, not an established equivalence: the available figures do not show that WEMIX PLAY matches Steam’s catalogue, audience or business model.
What is WEMIX PLAY?
WEMIX PLAY is WEMADE’s platform for blockchain games and one component of WEMIX 3.0, a broader blockchain ecosystem. The WEMIX 3.0 white paper describes that ecosystem as “experience-based, platform-driven, and service-oriented” and identifies WEMIX PLAY as its platform for play-and-earn (P&E) games. Those are the project’s own descriptions of its design and role, rather than independent assessments of its reach. WEMIX 3.0 white paper
WEMADE’s central pitch is that games can connect to tokenized assets and commerce rather than operate as isolated products. Its blockchain page describes a unified platform where assets and value can move between games, and says players can trade game-earned assets for cryptocurrency and use assets across titles. These are company-stated product capabilities; they do not by themselves establish that every game supports them, that assets are liquid, or that the economies are sustainable. How does the platform model work?
Games, tokens and commerce
In WEMADE’s proposed model, a game may issue or use digital assets that players can earn, spend, trade or convert. The platform’s promise is that some assets may have utility beyond the game in which they originate. In practice, the precise mechanics depend on each title: tokens, storefronts, conversion options and restrictions are not necessarily uniform across WEMIX PLAY.

A recent example: Hellsquad Rrrush!: Stone Rush
WEMADE announced that LightCON’s Hellsquad Rrrush!: Stone Rush launched on WEMIX PLAY in September 2026. The announcement described three exclusive webshops where players could spend PLAY tokens, AMBER tokens and WEMIX coins, as well as a mechanism to convert HELLSTONE to WEMIX. WEMADE also said the underlying Hellsquad Rrrush! game had surpassed one million downloads since July 2025. These details show one way a title can implement the platform’s commerce model; they should not be read as features available in every WEMIX PLAY game. WEMADE’s Stone Rush launch announcement
Why does WEMADE compare its ambition to Steam?
Steam is shorthand for a broad PC game distribution platform, while WEMADE is trying to make WEMIX PLAY a place to find games and access services tied to blockchain assets. The analogy is most useful as a statement of ambition: WEMADE wants to attract games beyond its own catalogue and make the platform more than a collection of single-title token systems.

There is evidence of that external-publishing effort. WEMADE’s second-quarter 2025 earnings release said the company was accelerating the onboarding of external games. The Stone Rush launch is a concrete example of a game developed by LightCON arriving on the platform, but a single launch does not establish the breadth or pace of third-party adoption. The comparison remains unproven on several measures readers would need to judge platform parity:

- External developer support: WEMADE has stated that it is onboarding external games, but the available examples and disclosures do not quantify the active developer base or establish how its publishing support compares with Steam’s.
- Economic durability: Token trading and cross-game utility are part of WEMADE’s proposition, but transaction activity alone cannot show that players’ game economies remain useful or sustainable.
What do WEMIX PLAY’s scale figures show?
WEMADE’s current corporate overview, accessed October 8, 2026, reports more than 100 PC and mobile games published, a 1.4 million peak concurrent-user figure for MIR4 following its 2021 global launch, and cumulative WEMIX 3.0 mainnet transaction volume above $11 billion. These are company-reported figures with different scopes: the transaction-volume figure is not a measure of player spending, WEMADE revenue or economic sustainability. WEMADE corporate overview

Taken together, the figures indicate that WEMADE has experience publishing games and that its ecosystem reports substantial activity. They do not establish that WEMIX PLAY has Steam-scale reach, catalogue breadth or player retention.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What would make the Steam comparison more convincing?
The key test is not whether WEMIX PLAY can support tokens; that is central to its stated design. It is whether the platform can make those features useful to a large, sustained audience without making ordinary game discovery and play harder.
