An Enderman is about 2.9 meters tall—roughly 9 feet 6 inches—when Minecraft’s Bedrock collision-box height is converted using the game’s approximate one-meter-per-block scale. That is a scale estimate, not a measurement of a real creature.
How tall is an Enderman in Minecraft?
Microsoft’s vanilla Bedrock entity reference gives the Enderman a collision-box height of 2.9 blocks. A collision box is the in-game space used for interactions; the figure is not a claim that every visual model, animation, pose, or Minecraft edition has precisely the same visible height. See the Minecraft Creator entity reference.
What is that in real-world units?
Minecraft Education’s June 2021 Design Guide uses a block as an approximate one-meter scale unit and describes players as approximately two meters tall. Applying that convention to the Bedrock hitbox gives 2.9 blocks × about 1 meter per block = about 2.9 meters. That converts to roughly 9 feet 6 inches (about 9.51 feet). The meter and feet figures are calculations from the in-game dimension and the guide’s approximate scale, not separately published official Enderman measurements. See the Minecraft Education Design Guide.
How does an Enderman’s height compare with a two-block ceiling?
Minecraft’s official Enderman overview says, “Endermen are tall enough that they won’t fit under a two-block high ceiling.” That gameplay comparison fits the documented 2.9-block collision-box height. The overview was published by Duncan Geere on April 7, 2025: Mob Menagerie: Enderman.

Is an Enderman toy life-size?
No. Mattel lists an 8-inch Enderman plush and an Enderman action-figure set at 3.25-inch scale; both are collectibles, not life-size models. Their listed sizes illustrate how much smaller merchandise is than the approximately 9-foot-6-inch scale estimate. See Mattel’s 8-inch Basic Plush Enderman and Enderman Action Figure & Accessory Set.
