In the original Slime Rancher, the documented console-command options come from PC mods, not from the Valve-style developer console. If you have the UMF Cheat Menu mod installed, press LeftShift+~ to open its console. The same mod opens its menu with B. For SRML, a console exists, but the sources available do not establish a universal key for opening it.
Open the UMF Cheat Menu console on PC
- Install the UMF Cheat Menu mod and its required UMF loader. These instructions apply to the original PC game and depend on the installed mod and version.
- Press LeftShift+~ to open the mod’s console. Press B to open the Cheat Menu, or LeftShift+F10 to open the mod settings, according to the author’s posted defaults.
- Use the mod’s help command. The author’s post says
help srcmlists commands added by the mod. Examples on that page includespawn gold_slime 5anditem pink_slime 5 4.
The UMF post was last updated December 3, 2021, and lists Cheat Menu version 1.76, game version 1.4.3, and UMF 0.53 or later. Those are historical compatibility details, not a guarantee that the mod works with a current game installation. If the tilde shortcut does not work, keyboard layouts may place that character on a different key. Check the mod’s settings or current documentation rather than assuming the game has a native console shortcut.

SRML is another PC mod loader with a console feature. Its source initializes an in-game console and registers commands including help, spawn, give, noclip, and fastforward. However, the reviewed sources do not establish a universal user-facing key for opening the console in current SRML builds. Check the documentation for your specific SRML release or installed mod; do not assume UMF’s LeftShift+~ shortcut applies.

SRML’s wiki explains its console commands and command registration: SRML Console Commands. The implementation is visible in the SRML console source.
Does the unmodded game have a console?
The sources reviewed document consoles supplied by mods, but do not establish an official built-in command console or native command list for the unmodified game. The practical route supported by the available instructions is to use a compatible PC mod and follow that mod’s controls and commands. The game’s official controls index does not provide the mod-specific command instructions above.

Does this work on Xbox, Switch, or mobile?
The documented mod-console instructions are for PC keyboard use. The fact that Slime Rancher is available on other platforms does not show that these mods or shortcuts work there. Official listings cover Xbox, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, the Nintendo Switch Plortable Edition, and Android and iOS; none of those listings establishes an equivalent console-command method for those editions.
Why Steam’s developer-console instructions do not apply
Steam Support’s instructions for enabling a developer console describe Valve games, not a built-in Slime Rancher setting. Use them only when the game in question supports that Valve console; for Slime Rancher, the documented command access here is through a mod: Steam Support: developer console.
