To access Slumber Island, meet the feature’s requirements, close your island gates, and lie on a bed inside your home. Choose “It’s slumber time.” For your first visit, select “Demonstrate away!”; to return to an island you have already made, select “My Slumber Island.”
What you need before Slumber Island appears
Nintendo’s Slumber Island instructions require all of the following:
- An active Nintendo Switch Online membership and a persistent internet connection.
- Your Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 set to the correct date.
- A three-star island rating.
- A home upgraded from a tent and a bed placed in it.
- Attendance at your first K.K. Slider concert.
- No wand transformation currently equipped.
- Your island gates closed, and solo play when you start the feature.
Once you meet the requirements, Luna sends a letter the following day introducing Slumber Island.
Create or reopen your own Slumber Island
- Go inside your home and lie down on any bed furniture.
- Select “It’s slumber time.”
- For the first island, choose “Demonstrate away!” Luna introduces the feature, connects online, saves your game, and asks you to choose an island size and layout.
- To return later or make another island, choose “My Slumber Island.” Select an existing island to open it, or choose an empty slot to create one.
From the island list, press Y to copy an island to another slot or press the minus button to delete one, as described in Nintendo’s instructions.

Visit someone else’s Slumber Island
The host must start from their own Slumber Island, speak to Luna, and choose “Invite Others.” Visitors enter the feature from the bed in their own home:
- Lie on a bed and choose “It’s slumber time.”
- Select “Someone else’s island.”
- Find a friend’s open island or enter the host’s five-digit Doze Code.
Nintendo’s multiplayer instructions give a limit of up to eight players for a regular Slumber Island session. In Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, a session can include up to 12 players when everyone is using that edition.

Slumber Island or Dream Address: which should you use?
These are separate ways to visit an island. Slumber Island is the newer feature: choose “My Slumber Island” to open your own, or “Someone else’s island” to join another player’s live island. To visit an uploaded dream, speak with Luna and choose “I want to dream,” then enter the island’s Dream Address. Nintendo’s Dream Address help explains that an address may stop working if its owner removes the island from the dream library. Island owners can receive a Dream Address after uploading a dream and adjust the address for privacy, according to Nintendo’s upload instructions.

No. Nintendo Support says: “Your real inventory and storage will not be affected by what you pick up or place on a Slumber Island.” Items you handle there do not change the belongings or storage in your regular game.

Why can’t I access Slumber Island?
Check the access requirements first: the feature does not appear until you have the three-star rating, upgraded home, bed, first K.K. Slider concert, active Nintendo Switch Online membership, and correct system date. Also remove any wand transformation, close your gates, and start solo from a bed inside your home. If you have only just met the conditions, wait for Luna’s letter, which Nintendo says arrives the following day.
