For Horde, follow the Battle for Azeroth introduction through “Welcome to Zuldazar”; Blizzard’s guide says this establishes the Horde base and a portal to Dazar’alor, the city hub in Zuldazar. For Alliance, begin “A Nation Divided” and use Boralus as your base, then follow the travel prompts available to your character. Blizzard’s published guidance does not spell out a complete current Alliance route into Zuldazar.
Horde: travel through the Zuldazar introduction
- Start the Battle for Azeroth introduction and follow the quest “Welcome to Zuldazar.” Blizzard’s returning-player guide describes the introductory progression and says it establishes a portal to Dazar’alor for Horde characters.
- Use the portal to reach Dazar’alor. Dazar’alor is the city hub within the Zuldazar zone, not a separate zone; Blizzard’s Zuldazar visitor’s guide describes the city and its place in the zone.
From Dazar’alor, Blizzard’s visitor’s guide lists portals to Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, and Silvermoon City.
Alliance: start in Boralus and follow available travel prompts
Blizzard identifies “A Nation Divided” as the Battle for Azeroth introductory quest for Alliance and Boralus as the Alliance base. The returning-player guide says the introduction establishes a portal to Boralus, but the official guidance cited here does not provide a complete current, step-by-step route from Boralus into Zuldazar. Continue with the active campaign and travel prompts shown to your character rather than assuming a particular portal or unlock is available.
If the route or portal is missing
- Check whether your character has completed the relevant faction introduction: “Welcome to Zuldazar” for Horde or “A Nation Divided” for Alliance.
- Look for the current Battle for Azeroth quest and travel prompts in your game. Blizzard’s portal guidance comes from a 2020 returning-player article, while its zone guide dates to the Battle for Azeroth launch period; neither is a complete account of every present-day travel system.
- Do not assume one quest is the only requirement for every character. The published guidance does not settle current level requirements, account-wide skips, or later-expansion travel options.
For historical storyline context, Blizzard’s Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder guide covers the expansion’s progression, but it is not a current exhaustive travel guide.
