In the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, jump over a quarterpipe and press keypad 7 + keypad 9 to Acid Drop into it. The move also works while walking. If it fails, check whether you changed the controls in the game launcher.

How to perform an Acid Drop on PC

  1. Approach a quarterpipe while skating or walking.
  2. Jump over the quarterpipe.
  3. Press keypad 7 and keypad 9 as you go over it. Your skater should drop into the ramp.

The PC manual gives this sequence for the Acid Drop: Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 PC user manual.

Check your bindings if it does not work

The PC launcher lets you customize keyboard controls and configure a recognized gamepad. If keypad 7 + keypad 9 does not trigger the move, check the launcher’s current bindings before trying different buttons. The manual documents configurable controls, but does not establish one default gamepad mapping.

Acid Drop is not the Spine move

In the PC control scheme listed by a GameFAQs walkthrough, Acid Drop is keypad 7 + keypad 9, while Spine is keypad 7 + keypad 8. If you are getting the wrong move, verify that you are pressing 9 rather than 8.

About the PC version

Activision announced the PC/CD-ROM version in 2004 and credited Beenox Studio as its PC developer. Its announcement described added gameplay features including off-board actions, Focus slow motion, projectiles, and graffiti tagging. The announcement also noted an official BradyGames strategy guide, but does not confirm whether that guide covers this specific PC input. Activision’s announcement is historical; its listed $39.99 suggested retail price is not a current price.

Using a modern PC or controller

The community project PartyMod for THUG 2 describes fixes and compatibility work for modern PCs and controllers and requires an English installation. Its project description does not establish that it fixes Acid Drop inputs or supports a particular Windows release or controller, so treat it as a community option—not a guaranteed fix for this move.
