To use EA Play on Steam, link your EA Account to your Steam account, then launch Steam using that same Steam account and download an included game from the Steam Store. Some games also require the EA app, even when downloaded through Steam. If you bought the membership on Steam, manage billing and cancellation through Steam Support.
How to activate EA Play on Steam
- Install the EA app if needed. EA says to install it before linking if it is not already on your PC. Some games require the EA app even when you download them through Steam; this does not mean every EA Play game requires it. EA’s account-linking instructions and EA’s PC membership instructions explain these requirements.
- Link EA and Steam. Sign in to your EA Account, open Connected Accounts, choose Steam, and sign in to Steam when prompted. Complete the linking flow. EA says you only need to link the accounts the first time you play an EA game on Steam.
- Open the linked Steam account. Sign in to Steam using the same account you linked to your EA Account. In the Steam Store, find an EA game included with EA Play and download it. Check the current Steam listing for a game’s membership availability, since the catalog can change.
- Launch the game. If prompted, sign in to the EA app with the linked EA Account. Follow any on-screen instructions to finish setup.
Which account and support service should I use?
Keep track of where you bought the membership. The account used to access games and the platform that handles subscription billing are related, but not interchangeable.

For a Steam purchase, use EA’s Steam membership guidance and Steam Support for membership, billing, or cancellation help.
If EA Play games are not available
- Check the Steam login. Confirm Steam is signed in to the account linked with your EA Account, not a different Steam account.
- Check the EA login. If the EA app opens or requests sign-in, use the EA Account linked to Steam.
- Check the game listing. Search for the title in the Steam Store and confirm it is currently included with EA Play. Availability can change.
- Check the purchase platform. If you bought EA Play through Steam, consult Steam Support about subscription status and billing; EA says those membership details may not show in EA Account settings.
Before unlinking or changing accounts
Do not unlink accounts casually to troubleshoot access. EA warns that unlinking or relinking can affect the account relationship, and its current guidance limits account-link switches to three times in a rolling year. Review EA’s live account-linking guidance before making a change.
