A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To add custom music to ULTRAKILL’s Cyber Grind, put a local audio file in the game’s Cybergrind/Music folder, then select it from the Cyber Grind terminal under Music > Custom. You do not need a mod for this basic workflow.
How to add a local music file
- Open the installed game folder. In your Steam Library, right-click ULTRAKILL, choose Manage, then Browse local files. This opens the game’s installation folder. Steam Community walkthrough
- Copy the audio file into the music folder. Open
Cybergrind, thenMusic, and copy your local file there. The walkthrough’s Windows example path isC:SteamsteamappscommonULTRAKILLCybergrindMusic; your drive or Steam library location may differ. Steam Community walkthrough - Select the track in-game. Launch ULTRAKILL, enter The Cyber Grind, interact with the terminal, and choose Music, then Custom. Use the plus control to add the track if needed, then select it from the list. If the plus control is not visible on the first page, check the other pages. Steam Community walkthrough
The file needs to be available on your computer: a Spotify or YouTube Music stream by itself is not a local file for this method. Use music you have the right to access and use.

Which audio formats work?
A Steam Community guide reports MP3, WAV, and OGG files working. Treat that as community-reported format guidance, not an official game specification. The guide mentions FLAC only in a comment, so it does not establish FLAC as confirmed by the author. Steam Community walkthrough Guide comments

If the song is missing or causes a slowdown
- Check that the file is in
ULTRAKILL/Cybergrind/Music, rather than only in a nearby folder. - If the game does not detect it, or playback causes a lag spike, try an MP3 or WAV copy. The guide reports OGG loading lag and user reports of slowdown, but does not establish a cause or guarantee that conversion will solve every issue. Guide comments
- If you need to convert a file, the guide mentions Audacity as one possible converter. Conversion is unnecessary when you already have a supported local file. Steam Community walkthrough
Do you need a mod?
No. Custom music is now an official game feature; CybergrindMusicExplorer’s documentation describes its role as enhancing the existing music player rather than enabling the basic feature. CybergrindMusicExplorer documentation
#1 Best Overall
| Option | What it offers | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in game workflow | Add and select local tracks through the terminal’s Music > Custom menu. | You only want to use music files already on your computer. Steam Community walkthrough |
| CybergrindMusicExplorer | Optional track previews, playlist controls, an in-game playback menu, and a downloader. The documentation says the downloader is early-stage and may not work consistently; its downloader feature requires ffmpeg. | You want extra browsing or playback controls, or want to try its optional downloader. Mod documentation Project page |
| UltraTweaker | Its README lists “CG Music” as a Cyber Grind tweak for custom songs and playlists; installation is described through Thunderstore/r2modman or manual download. | You already use UltraTweaker and want its listed music tweak. The available documentation does not establish a reliability or compatibility advantage over CybergrindMusicExplorer. UltraTweaker README |
What the optional downloader does—and does not do
CybergrindMusicExplorer documents downloading tracks from YouTube or SoundCloud via ffmpeg and placing downloaded files in the game’s music folder. This is an optional mod feature, not part of the built-in process; the mod page warns that the downloader is early-stage and may not work consistently. The documentation available for these mods does not provide comparative testing for performance, compatibility, or reliability, so choose based on the features you want rather than an assumed technical advantage.
