In Minecraft Bedrock Edition, enable cheats and enter /effect @s nausea 10 0 to give yourself Nausea for 10 seconds. The command applies the effect; it does not craft a potion.
Apply Nausea with a command in Bedrock Edition
- Enable cheats for the world. Microsoft’s Bedrock command guidance explains how to use commands, which require cheats.
- Open the chat or command input and enter
/effect @s nausea 10 0. The target@smeans you;nauseais the effect identifier documented by Microsoft’s Bedrock effect enum. - Run the command. Your character receives Nausea for 10 seconds.
The documented Bedrock format is /effect <player> <effect> [seconds] [amplifier] [hideParticles]. The duration and amplifier are optional: if omitted, the documented defaults are 30 seconds and amplifier 0. The final optional value controls whether particles are hidden. For example, /effect @s nausea 30 0 true applies the effect for 30 seconds at amplifier 0 and hides its particles. See Microsoft’s Bedrock /effect command reference for the syntax.
Change the duration or remove the effect
To use a different duration, replace 10 with the number of seconds you want. To remove only Nausea from yourself, run /effect @s clear nausea. To clear all status effects from yourself, run /effect @s clear. The Bedrock command reference documents both forms.
Can you make a Nausea potion?
The official evidence cited here does not establish a recipe for brewing a Nausea potion, so the command above is the supported method in Bedrock. Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4 release notes list effects available from suspicious stew but do not list Nausea; that only describes the listed stew effects for that release, not every edition or future version. Does this command work in Java Edition?
The command syntax above is documented for Bedrock Edition. A 2018 Java bug report includes an older command example, but it does not verify syntax for current Java versions. Check the command in the specific Java version you play rather than assuming Bedrock syntax applies. Mojang bug report
