To avoid an idle kick, the server owner must change its idle-timeout setting. On a Bedrock Dedicated Server, set player-idle-timeout=0 in server.properties. On a Java Edition dedicated server, an operator can use /setidletimeout 0 or set the same property to 0. If you are a visitor, ask the server administrator. These dedicated-server fixes are not confirmed for Realms.
First identify the kind of Minecraft world
Idle-kick controls depend on the server, not just the game you are playing. Minecraft multiplayer includes LAN games, online servers, and Realms; its server guide describes Realms as its official online server service. A setting for a dedicated server does not automatically apply to a Realm.

- Realm or someone else’s hosted world/server: You generally need the host or administrator to address server-side settings. Dedicated-server instructions are not a verified Realm fix.
Change the timeout on a Bedrock Dedicated Server
Microsoft’s Bedrock Dedicated Server Properties reference says player-idle-timeout is measured in minutes, has a documented default of 30, and can be set to 0 to let players idle indefinitely.

server.propertiesfile. - Set the line to
player-idle-timeout=0. - Save the file, then start or reload the server as appropriate for that installation.
The setting affects players subject to that server configuration. Consider your server’s resource, fairness, and hosting policies before allowing indefinite idling; the cited documentation does not quantify the performance effect of this change.

Change the timeout on a Java Edition dedicated server
The Java command reference documents /setidletimeout <minutes> for dedicated servers. An operator can set it to zero to disable the timer:
/setidletimeout 0
The reference lists permission level 3 for the command. Confirm the command and permission behavior for the server version you run. See the secondary Java command reference.

Alternatively, set player-idle-timeout=0 in the Java server’s server.properties. The secondary server properties reference documents the property in minutes, with zero disabling the timer.

The timeout is controlled on the server. Without administrator or operator access, you cannot change its configuration yourself. Ask the owner whether they can adjust the idle timeout; the Java command and dedicated-server property are not general player commands.

What about Realms, movement, or AFK setups?
The official Minecraft multiplayer support material and multiplayer guide do not establish a Realm-specific idle-timeout control or a supported way for Realm owners to disable idle kicks. Check current Realm-specific support information or ask the owner rather than applying dedicated-server settings to a Realm.
Likewise, movement, an AFK pool, a mouse mover, or an autoclicker is not established as a supported fix for a disconnect enforced by a host or service. Do not rely on those methods to override a server-side timeout.
