If you see two similar charges—or are unsure whether a payment went through—pause before buying again or adding funds. First compare the PlayStation account’s transaction history with your bank or card statement. A pair of bank entries alone does not confirm that PlayStation completed the same transaction twice.
Check PlayStation transaction history first
PlayStation recommends checking whether the same content appears more than once in your account history. The available routes are online Account Management, PS5, PS4 and the PlayStation App. Labels can vary by region: the UK guide calls the online page “Order History,” while other routes use “Transaction History.”

Online Account Management
- Sign in to Account Management.
- Open Transaction History (called Order History in the UK guide) and choose a date range.
- Select a transaction to see its details. The UK guide says the online history displays the past two years by default.
PS5
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History.
- Choose the account and date range, then review the entries.
On PS5, only the family manager can view family members’ transaction history.
PS4
- Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Transaction History.
- Scan the displayed QR code to view the history.
PlayStation App
- Select PlayStation Store and open the menu.
- Choose Transaction History, set the date range and select a transaction for details.
Compare the history with your bank or card statement
Check that the PlayStation transaction details—including the account, item and date—match the entries on the statement. For a suspected repeated wallet top-up, PlayStation specifically advises checking both records: “Check your transaction history and view your bank statement to see if your wallet was funded multiple times.” If the PlayStation history does not make the statement clear, do not assume that a bank entry is a completed Store purchase. The reviewed PlayStation guidance does not explain how banks label authorizations or pending entries, so ask your bank or card provider about those entries. If the wallet was funded twice accidentally, contact PlayStation Support.

Check other accounts and possible subscription or family purchases
A payment method can be linked to more than one PlayStation account. If so, check the transaction history for every account using that card; a charge absent from one account may appear in another.
- Check whether an entry is a recurring subscription payment rather than a second purchase.
- If you are a family manager, check whether a child family member made a purchase using your wallet. Child accounts do not have a separate PlayStation wallet and can spend from the family manager’s wallet within the assigned spending limit. PlayStation says this limit defaults to zero when the child account is created.
These are checks, not proof of what caused a particular charge. PlayStation’s guidance on unauthorized charges also recommends checking Store transactions before drawing a conclusion.

Request a refund when an eligible purchase appears twice
Open Transaction History, select the transaction and choose Request Refund if that option is available; you can also contact Support or use the online assistant on the regional refund page. Eligibility depends on the purchase type, region and applicable conditions. The following details are from PlayStation’s US refund guide, not universal rules:
- Games and downloadable content: The US guide says to request a refund within 14 days of purchase and that the content must not have been downloaded or streamed, except where rights for faulty content apply.
- Subscriptions: The US guide says to request within 14 days of signing up, and that this applies to the first payment rather than a recurring fee. Use of the service may reduce the refund.
- Wallet top-ups: The US guide says a wallet top-up cannot be cancelled.
- Processing and destination: The US guide says eligible refunds may take 30 to 60 days. Where possible, the refund goes to the original payment method; if that is not possible, it may be credited to the wallet.
Local law may provide additional rights. Check the refund policy for your region and purchase type before relying on the US conditions: US refund policy and UK refund policy.

Escalate charges that no account history explains
If no account’s transaction history explains a charge, contact PlayStation Support promptly and follow its unauthorized-charge instructions. If you suspect that someone accessed your account, use PlayStation’s official account recovery guidance. For an unclear bank-side entry, contact your bank or card provider; the PlayStation materials reviewed do not establish what a bank’s duplicate-looking entries mean.
