This floor-by-floor guide explains what to do and flags the button, chase, or follow-up sequence that continues after a boss falls. The game is available for Nintendo Switch; Nintendo’s US product page lists its physical edition.
The tactics below follow the encounter order used in the game. Luigi’s Strobulb will not solve every defense: look for the specific object, attack pattern, or opening that makes a ghost vulnerable. Nintendo describes the Poltergust’s Burst, Suction Shot, and Slam functions, and notes that Gooigi can help Luigi overcome obstacles; the exact button prompts can depend on the player’s control setup. Boss strategies are summarized from Nintendo Life’s walkthrough, published November 4, 2022, a secondary guide rather than an official Nintendo strategy guide.
How to beat the Basement boss: Steward
In the Garage, Steward uses a suitcase as a shield and throws it at Luigi. Dodge the throw, or use Burst to disrupt him. Once he is exposed, hit him with the Strobulb and vacuum him. Defeating Steward awards the elevator buttons for floors 1 and 5.
How to beat the Floor 3 boss: Kruller
In the Lost and Found/security-office sequence, send Gooigi through the bars while Luigi avoids Kruller’s water pistol. Kruller’s sunglasses block the Strobulb, so vacuum them off first. Stun and capture him once his eyes are exposed; repeat the process when he puts on another pair. The reward is the floor 2 button.

How to beat the Floor 2 boss: Chef Soulfflé
First clear the kitchen smoke: have Luigi vacuum while Gooigi clears the remaining smoke. Soulfflé blocks the Strobulb with his pan. Attach a plunger to the pan with the Suction Shot, pull it away, then stun and vacuum the chef.
Recover the elevator button from the rats
The button is stolen after the fight, so the sequence is not finished when Soulfflé is captured. Use cheese as bait and follow the rats’ trail through the dining room and adjoining rooms to recover it.
How to beat the Floor 5 boss: Chambrea
Chambrea retreats between rooms and cannot be vacuumed directly. Find the briefcase inside her, fire a plunger at it, and pull the rope to drag her out. Throw her around to deplete her health.
How to beat the Floor 4 boss: Amadeus Wolfgeist
Clear the stage
Circle the central chairs to avoid the rows Amadeus throws. When masked dancing ghosts appear, use Burst to knock off their masks, then stun and capture them.
Break the piano
When Wolfgeist possesses the piano, keep moving and jump over the shockwave after its large slam. When it throws bombs, pick up one that is not flashing and shoot it into the open lid. The piano will fall over; attach a plunger to its underside and pull. Stun Wolfgeist through the open lid and repeat until the piano breaks.

Capture Wolfgeist
Dodge the flaming notes once the ghost is exposed, then stun and vacuum him.
How to beat the Floor 8 boss sequence: Morty and the Kaiju
The main battle is against a Kaiju-costumed Goober in the film set, not a direct fight against director Morty. Reaching the fight’s megaphone requires carrying objects between sets.
Get the megaphone
- Carry a bucket from Backstage through the television to the Horror Set and use it at the well.
- Carry the water to the Castle Set to grow the vine, then take the unlit torch.
- Light the torch in the Fire Set.
- Take it to the Micro Set and use its air to clear the spider and web.
Defeat the Kaiju and finish Morty’s sequence
Dodge the Kaiju’s fireballs. When it launches an energy ball, use Poltergust air to push it back; later, Luigi and Gooigi must work together. Morty gives up the floor 9 button after the sequence. He can be captured later if you revisit him.
How to beat the Floor 6 boss: King MacFrights
Wait for the knight to lower his shield just before charging with the lance. Stun him when his head is exposed, attach a plunger to his chest armor, and throw him. Repeat until the armor breaks. In the final phase, wait for his sword to lodge in the ground, then stun and capture him.
How to beat the Floor 7 boss: Dr. Potter
Potter’s man-eating plant blocks attacks. Lure it into biting one of the large plants on the ground, then use the buzzsaw on its neck. With the plant removed, attack Dr. Potter like a regular ghost and repeat as needed.

How to beat the Floor 9 bosses: the T-Rex and Ug
Defeat the T-Rex
Throw one egg into the T-Rex’s mouth. While it is occupied, throw the other egg at its chest.
Continue against Ug
The encounter continues with dinosaur ghost Ug. The source guide’s available notes do not establish a complete, dependable step-by-step sequence for this part, so this guide does not guess at the remaining tactics.
How to beat Polterkitty: first chase
After stealing the floor 9 button, Polterkitty moves between floors 8 and 7. It hides in furniture and later perches out of reach, so follow the pursuit rather than expecting a single arena fight. Turn away to encourage it to approach. When it stands on its hind legs and prepares to strike, hit it with the Strobulb and vacuum it. The chase has several locations; capturing it once does not necessarily end the pursuit.
How to beat the Floor B2 boss: Clem
Use the inflatable duck to move around the tank and steer clear of the spiked edges. Let Clem overextend until he becomes dizzy, then vacuum the duck’s head and blow air to send him into the spikes and out of the tank. Climb out, stun him, and vacuum him. Later phases add mines; if the inflatable bursts, use the prompt to inflate another.
How to beat the Floor 10 boss: Serpci
Expose Serpci
Vacuum sand from the giant head until snakes appear. Bait a snake into striking the ground, then vacuum it. Outrun the moving bulge in the sand and repeat until Serpci emerges. Dodge the snakes’ projectiles and use the Strobulb when she is exposed.

Handle the later phase
Dodge the sandy fists and jump over the shockwave from the sand-ball attack. Vacuum the head whenever it is within reach.

Use the kegs and hook opening
Use explosive kegs thrown by the ghost crew against the ship’s open face. When Fishook is knocked clear, dodge his hook swipes and stun and vacuum him when the hook gets stuck in the deck.
Finish the ship sequence
During the final sequence, use the board and plunger to hold on as the ship dives. Continue using kegs when its mouth opens.

The three magician ghosts hide in top hats. Stomp when the hats close in to tip them over, then vacuum a handkerchief chain to pull a ghost out. Stun and vacuum that ghost. Keep track of which hats still hold ghosts: a captured ghost is replaced by a bomb.
How to beat the Floor 13 boss: Johnny Deepend
The objective is to drain the pool. Keep Luigi behind cover from the water polo balls while Gooigi reaches the valve behind the pool and blows air at it. When Johnny rises to attack, stun him with a ball. Use that opening to move Gooigi safely and turn the valve.

How to beat Polterkitty: second chase
The pursuit returns across floors 13, 12, and 11, ending in the Lounge on floor 11. Dislodge Polterkitty from the punching bag with the boxing glove, vacuum it from below in the gym lobby, check the keg on the beach, and pull together on the sword-filled casket in the lounge. As before, wait for its attack stance before stunning it.
How to beat the Floor 14 boss: DJ Phantasmagloria
Find the elevator button
Stomp among the hooded ghosts to identify the one holding the elevator button, then track it as it passes the button. Stomp near it while the group is jumping, then stun and vacuum it.
Capture the DJ
Dodge the records and stomp near DJ Phantasmagloria to knock off her afro wig. Once she is exposed, use the Strobulb and vacuum her. Repeat until she is captured.
How to beat the Floor 15 boss: Hellen Gravely
This fight spans two levels. Luigi must avoid the laser barriers above while Gooigi travels below to pull switches and disable them. Three barriers can leave enough room to attack. Wait for Gravely to lunge and for her mirror to stick in the ground; then stun and vacuum her. Later phases add water below and longer laser sweeps, so return Gooigi to the lower level to manage the switches.

Open King Boo’s mouth and attack
Avoid the lightning on illuminated grid squares, tongue swipes, fireballs, and other attacks. When the spiked ball breaks into bombs, throw a bomb into King Boo’s mouth. Once he collapses, Luigi and Gooigi must vacuum his tongue together.
Identify the real King Boo in later phases
Later phases add copies and more attacks at once. Check which King Boo is real before throwing a bomb; the third phase adds another copy and a time limit. Keep dodging until a bomb opening appears, then repeat the mouth-and-tongue sequence.
