Make the final setup decision deliberately
At the Shelter, compare the benefit of a damage or resistance change with what you would have to give up. A useful adjustment is one that fits the weapon and play style you can use consistently, not merely one that matches a recommended damage type. If your party has a ranged option, it can help create space; if it does not, prioritize a setup that lets you engage and disengage without committing to unsafe attacks.
