For the normal tower fight, bring leveled Fire-type Pals, a ranged weapon, and enough ammunition; fight at medium range, keep moving, use pillars for cover, and swap out injured Pals. Guides suggest preparing around level 20–30, but that is advice rather than a game-enforced requirement. Hard mode is a separate, much later challenge and needs its own preparation.
How to beat Lyleen in the normal tower fight
- Build around Fire damage. Lyleen is a Grass-type boss, and guides recommend Fire as the main elemental advantage. Bring two or three leveled Fire attackers if you have them; a general-damage team can still work, but it gives up that recommended matchup. palworld.tools, Playnews, and the community wiki support the Fire-focused approach.
- Carry a ranged weapon and ammunition. The community wiki names the Musket, Makeshift Handgun, and Handgun as useful choices. palworld.tools also mentions the Three Shot Bow and Crossbow. Use the weapon you can handle reliably rather than treating any one option as mandatory.
- Stay mobile and use cover. Fight from medium range and circle to avoid seed projectiles. Arena pillars can block many ranged attacks, according to palworld.tools, but its guide says Grass Tornado passes through terrain; sprint clear of its path instead of relying on a pillar.
- Respond to the healing field. Playnews describes Lyleen using a healing field. Keep pressure on her and interrupt the heal when you can; avoid spending so long waiting for a perfect opening that she gets extra time to recover.
- Rotate weakened Pals. Swap a Pal out when its health falls substantially so a reserve can take over while it recovers. Playnews gives below 50% health as a practical swap point, not a strict game rule.
What level and equipment should you bring?
Published recommendations differ: palworld.tools suggests level 20, the PalMods boss counter says 25+, and Playnews recommends level 25–30. Treat roughly level 20–30 as a reported preparation range, not a definitive threshold. Pal levels, weapon strength, and your ability to dodge also affect how manageable the fight feels.
A practical loadout is a ranged weapon from the options above, adequate ammunition, a shield, and—if your route requires it—climate protection such as suitable armor or an undershirt combination. These are preparation suggestions from guides, not confirmed requirements. PalMods recommends a Handgun or Musket as a baseline and discusses a shield and cold protection.
Choosing a straightforward or safer approach
| Approach | Damage and range | Survivability and Pal rotation |
|---|---|---|
| Fire-focused, ranged | Uses the recommended Fire advantage while you contribute ranged damage. | Combine movement and pillar cover with a shield; rotate out Pals as they weaken. |
| General damage, Pal-led | Relies more on Pal attacks and does not prioritize the suggested Fire matchup. | The same movement, cover, and reserve-Pal rotation remain useful; no single objectively best team is established by the cited guides. |
How hard mode changes the fight
Do not carry normal-mode level or equipment assumptions into the hard rematch. A PalMods guide updated August 13, 2026 reports a level-74 Lyleen with 494,000 HP, a five-minute timer, and two Free Pal Alliance minions present at the start. Those are guide-reported, version-specific encounter details, not official figures corroborated by the official search results available for this topic. PalMods’ boss counter also warns that hard-mode Lyleen’s Water attacks, including Geyser Gush, can punish the Fire Pals commonly recommended for normal mode. Plan for that threat rather than assuming Fire attackers alone will carry the rematch.

Check the tower location in your game
Guides conflict about where the tower is: the PalMods counter places it in the Frostbound Mountains, while other current guide results describe a different setting. Verify the tower on your in-game map for your build and selected difficulty rather than relying on one guide’s location. Palworld remains in Early Access, and Pocketpair warns that outdated mods can cause crashes, so mods may also complicate version-specific directions. Pocketpair’s news page
