During Vile Lictor’s yellow-bar phase, wait for his mouth to open, then focus your shots there. Dodge the tracking projectiles from Hundred Hands, jump over the low Spectral Wall, and move through the gaps in its segmented version. Lictor teleports, so keep him in view and reacquire him before aiming. Once his blue bar is gone, a walkthrough says he can be damaged across his body, though the mouth remains a critical target.
Where the Vile Lictor fight happens
Vile Lictor is the boss of His Vile Sanctum. PowerPyx lists it as the 14th main mission, starting in Kairos > Terminus Range > Windspear, with Defiant Calder as the quest giver. Its walkthrough says the mission unlocks after main quest 13, Dark Subject, and recommends Level 18; that is a guide recommendation, not a stated game-enforced level requirement. PowerPyx’s mission walkthrough covers the full route, including the fortress approach, before the boss encounter.

How to damage Vile Lictor
Yellow-bar phase: wait for the opening
PowerPyx says Lictor can only be damaged when his mouth is open while his health bar is yellow. Avoid wasting shots into the shell while it is closed; watch for the opening and aim at the mouth as soon as it appears. Vault’s separate encounter guide describes the heart above the shell as a primary target while Lictor is hidden. These guides use different descriptions of the vulnerable spot, so treat the mouth and heart details as walkthrough guidance rather than an official weak-point callout.
Later phase: keep targeting the mouth when possible
PowerPyx says that after Lictor’s blue bar is gone, he can be damaged anywhere, while the mouth remains a critical spot. Take the broader damage opportunity when it is available, and favor the mouth when you have a clear shot.

How to avoid Lictor’s attacks
The Epic Games Store campaign boss guide identifies these attack responses:
- Hundred Hands: Multiple projectiles home toward your location. Move out of the targeted area quickly rather than standing still to aim.
- Low Spectral Wall: Jump over the ground-traveling wall.
- Segmented Spectral Wall: Reposition through the visible gaps instead of trying to cross a solid section.
- Teleport: Keep Lictor in view as much as possible. After he reappears, reacquire him before committing to your next shot.
What to do about the summoned arms
Vault’s guide says four summoned arms can fire projectiles and have blue shield health bars. It recommends destroying them while they are active if their fire is disrupting your positioning, and suggests Shock against their shields. This is independent guide advice, not a recommendation stated in Epic’s boss guide. Prioritize the arms when their attacks are making it difficult to dodge or find Lictor’s damage window.

Element and survival advice
Vault recommends Corrosive damage against Lictor’s yellow armor in the shell phase and Shock against the blue shield in the later phase. These are that guide’s elemental suggestions; the core strategy remains recognizing the damage window and avoiding the named attacks. Vault also reports that small spiderbots appear during the fight and can provide ammunition or a Second Wind opportunity when defeated. Use them as a possible recovery resource if you are running low or downed; the Epic guide does not confirm this detail.

A practical fight sequence
- When the fight starts, keep Lictor in sight and watch for the attack pattern rather than firing continuously into his shell.
- During the yellow-bar phase, hold shots until his mouth opens, then aim at the mouth.
- When Hundred Hands targets you, relocate. Jump the low Spectral Wall and pass through gaps in the segmented wall.
- If the summoned arms are filling the area with projectiles, target them while active; Vault’s guide suggests Shock for their blue shields.
- After Lictor teleports, find him again before aiming. Once the blue bar is gone, take shots across his body when necessary and use the mouth as a critical target when it is exposed.
- If ammunition or a Second Wind becomes an issue, look for the spiderbots Vault reports during the encounter.
