To start Marie’s Aeon Social Link in Persona 4 Golden, enter the Velvet Room on or after April 18 and choose Check on Dwellers, then Listen to Marie’s Request. After that, meet her during eligible daytime slots, bring an Aeon Persona for affinity bonuses, and plan around story gates at Ranks 5 and 6.
Start Marie’s Aeon Social Link
- On or after April 18, enter the Velvet Room.
- Choose Check on Dwellers, then Listen to Marie’s Request.
- If another event interrupts the interaction, leave the Velvet Room and enter again.

Find Marie and build affinity
When to look for her
Marie is generally available in the daytime on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, but not when it is raining. The guides place her around the Velvet Room entrance in the Central Shopping District. Treat that schedule as a guide rather than a guarantee: availability can shift with weather, story progress, and Social Link rank. GameFAQs’ Persona 4 schedule guide also cautions that Social Link availability varies.
Use an Aeon Persona
Keep an Aeon-Arcana Persona in the protagonist’s stock when spending time with Marie. The matching Arcana grants an affinity bonus, helping you reach rank-up events with fewer hangouts. Choose the high-affinity dialogue answers for each rank; some responses do not affect affinity, and occasionally you will need an extra hangout before the next rank event. Account for Rank 5 and Rank 6 gates
- Rank 5: The event is unavailable until after July 24 and after Rise has joined the team.
- Rank 6: After reaching Rank 5, spend one additional afternoon with Marie before the Rank 6 event can occur.
If a rank-up does not appear despite meeting Marie, these gates—or the need for more affinity—may explain the delay. The rank timing is detailed in ArcanaFuse’s guide.
Choose friendship or romance at Rank 9
Relationship spoiler: At Rank 9, choose Because I love you and accept the hug prompt to take the lovers route. Choosing Because you’re my friend, or declining the hug, selects or returns to the friendship route. Either route can still reach Rank 10 and earn the same Bamboo Comb reward; some Rank 10 dialogue and scenes differ. The branch is covered by RPG Site and ArcanaFuse.

What Rank 10 unlocks
Completing the Social Link to Rank 10 gives the Bamboo Comb, a key item that enables Kaguya (Aeon) fusion. Max the link by December 23 to unlock the Hollow Forest bonus dungeon. These outcomes are listed in the RPG Site walkthrough and ArcanaFuse walkthrough.
