Build a Construct around its job in the team: choose Memory set bonuses for that role, then tune resonance to the skills the Construct actually uses. There is no universal best setup. Character, rank, team, game mode, patch, and investment can all change the right choice.
Start with the Construct’s role and team
Before spending upgrade resources, decide what the Construct needs to do in your team: deal damage, tank, or provide support. A teammate may already supply a useful effect, so a personal damage bonus is not automatically the best choice. Builds can also vary by rank, investment, timeframe, and mode; use a current character-specific reference for exact recommendations rather than treating a general setup as a meta build. The community-maintained Gray Ravens build reference presents character builds, but confirm recommendations against the game and check the reference’s update context.
How Memory sets and slots work
A Construct can equip six Memories. Matching Memories activate set bonuses at two and four pieces, and a common starting pattern is four pieces from a main set plus two from a secondary set. That is a heuristic, not a rule: choose bonuses that fit the Construct’s role and the team’s needs. The community wiki’s Memory guide covers the system, including enhancement, overclocking, and resonance.
Enhancing a Memory raises its stats without changing its set-bonus values. Memory types correspond to numbered grid positions, so consider placement as well as set composition: the wiki advises using Memories with stronger HP/CRIT profiles in upper slots and those with stronger ATK/DEF profiles in lower slots when possible. Treat this as a placement guideline, not a guaranteed damage increase.

Choose Memory resonance for the intended build
Memory resonance is not simply a generic stat reroll. The community wiki distinguishes five-star resonance, which is not character-specific, from six-star resonance, which is bound to a selected Construct. Six-star Memories also have separate top- and bottom-slot effect pools. Effects can relate to orb skills, basic attacks, signature skills, QTE, core passives, or class passives.
Pick resonance for the skills and rotation that matter to the build. A main damage dealer, a support, and a QTE-focused setup may value different effects. Before committing a six-star Memory, make sure it is assigned to the intended Construct and compare the available effects with a current build reference. Verify exact effect names and rules in-game, since community-maintained descriptions can become outdated.

Weapons: verify the mechanics before investing
Weapon skills, resonance, harmonization, and equip compatibility are all parts of the weapon system, but exact current costs, effects, and steps should be checked in-game before you commit resources. The Huaxu community database lists these weapon topics, but it is not an official patch record.
Players sometimes use “weapon harmony” or “harmonization” when asking about the system. In a community discussion, a reply describes weapon harmonization as assigning a two-piece Memory set bonus to a six-star weapon and Memory resonance as adding stats or skill levels. Use that as a clue to the terminology players encounter, not as sole authority for current mechanics; confirm the relevant menu, eligibility, and effect in the game before acting.

Compare two plausible builds before spending
When more than one setup looks viable, compare them on the same criteria rather than copying isolated pieces from different characters’ builds:
- Construct and team job: identify the role and whether a teammate already supplies a needed effect.
- Set bonuses: compare the actual two-piece and four-piece effects, including team utility or energy benefits alongside personal damage.
- Resonance target: check which skill or stat benefits the Construct’s rotation and intended role.
- Weapon and investment: account for the weapon and resonance level you have, and whether the upgrade cost is worthwhile for your goal.
- Mode and patch: a setup intended for one mode or patch may not be the best choice elsewhere.
For a specific Construct, look for a reference that names the character and team context, and check when it was updated. Huaxu’s page displayed version 4.8.0, “Anchored in Faith,” on October 4, 2026; it is community-maintained, so verify patch details with the game client or an official Kuro Games announcement before relying on them.

A practical order for building
- Define the job. Decide what the Construct contributes to the team and the mode you are building for.
- Choose the Memory bonuses. Start with a role-appropriate four-piece and two-piece combination, then check whether a different set better supports the team.
- Place Memories thoughtfully. Where possible, follow the upper-slot HP/CRIT and lower-slot ATK/DEF guidance, while preserving the set bonuses you chose.
- Set resonance for the rotation. Match effects to the Construct’s important skills, and confirm six-star Memory assignment before using scarce resources.
- Check weapon details in-game. Confirm the available weapon mechanics and their current costs and effects before investing.
- Recheck the build reference. Confirm its character, team, rank, investment assumptions, mode, and update context match your situation.
Steam’s game listing describes Punishing: Gray Raven as an action RPG featuring Construct soldiers; it provides game context, not build-system guidance.
