Yes—you can use your PlayStation wallet balance and a payment card for the same PS5 game purchase. PlayStation Store uses wallet funds first, then lets an eligible payment method cover any remaining amount. The card must be supported for your account’s country or region.

Can I use wallet funds and a card together on PS5?

Yes. PlayStation Support says wallet funds are used first; if they do not cover the full purchase, the remainder can be settled with another payment method. Sony’s US terms also say it may automatically charge an approved payment method for the amount needed to complete a purchase.

How do I pay the rest with my card?

Save an eligible payment method. On PS5, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods and add or check your card. Menu labels and availability can vary by region or software version.

Check your wallet balance. Open PlayStation Store, press the triangle button, select … (More), and look for the wallet balance beside your profile icon.
Select the game and review checkout. Find the digital game in PlayStation Store and proceed to checkout. Wallet funds are applied first; the remaining balance can be charged to the eligible payment method. Check the total and payment method displayed before confirming.

How do I add money to my PS5 wallet?

If you prefer to top up before buying, use a saved payment method or a PlayStation Store gift card. On PS5, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Add Funds, choose a payment method and amount, continue, and confirm. Gift cards are an alternative way to fund the wallet; check that the code matches your account’s country or region.

Sony says wallet funds added to an account cannot be refunded, so consider whether paying only the shortfall at checkout better suits your purchase.

What if the card is declined or the payment does not appear?

Card declined: Confirm that the card is accepted for your account’s country or region. Sony suggests trying another supported payment method or a PlayStation Store voucher.

Can a child account use wallet funds?

Child accounts do not have their own wallet and cannot add funds. A child can buy eligible content within their spending limit using the family manager’s wallet. Sony says the default monthly spending limit is zero, so the family manager may need to set a limit before the child can make a purchase.
