Which route is available depends on your platform, region, and the game. Check the instructions for your specific game before paying; a listing that simply offers a code is not proof that EA has approved the seller or that the code will work for your platform and region.

The best route is the one EA or your platform identifies for your game and location. The in-game Store and official console or PC stores provide a purchase flow for a selected bundle; the EA app provides another route where available. A retailer card is different: you pay for a code or card and then redeem it according to its instructions. The Companion App may send console players to the console’s web store rather than completing checkout inside the app.
These routes also differ in where to look for transaction records and who handles billing. If you buy through Xbox, PlayStation, or a mobile game’s billing system, those platform providers process the payment. Check that provider’s transaction history and contact its support about a disputed charge. For a purchase made directly through an EA Account, EA says it can help with eligible fraudulent EA Account charges. Keep the route and the transaction confirmation in mind in case the Points are delayed or a charge looks unfamiliar.

EA says EA Play subscribers get a 10% discount on FC Points bundles, subject to conditions, limitations, and exclusions. Treat that as an offer to verify in the current purchase flow, not as a guaranteed discount for every subscriber, bundle, platform, or region.
How to buy through an official store
In Ultimate Team
- Open Ultimate Team in the game you intend to play.
- Go to Store and open the FC Points tab.
- Select the bundle you want and review the displayed price and payment details.
- Complete the platform’s payment prompts. Keep the transaction confirmation in case the Points do not appear.
Before confirming, make sure the game and account shown are the ones where you intend to use the Points. Check the bundle and the price shown in the actual purchase flow rather than relying on an old screenshot or a seller’s claim about a current offer. If the store does not show the bundle or payment option you expected, use the official instructions for your platform instead of asking an outside seller to complete the transaction for you.
In the EA app
- Sign in to the EA app using the official app or sign-in page.
- Search for FC Points.
- Select the FC Points add-on and the bundle you want.
- Review the purchase details and complete checkout in the app.
The app route is useful when it is available for your game and account, but it does not make every off-app offer safe. Search within the EA app itself and complete the checkout presented there. Do not follow an unsolicited message to a lookalike sign-in page or hand your credentials to someone who says they can add the Points manually.

First confirm that purchases are currently offered for your platform and region. EA’s stated availability is limited to the United States for PlayStation and Xbox players, while PC players can use the feature in all regions. For console users, the app directs you to the console’s web store, where checkout follows that platform’s process. If you do not see the option, do not try to work around the restriction by giving your account details to a seller; use the official in-game or platform store instead.
The distinction matters if you are comparing instructions with another player’s experience. A PC player may see the Companion App purchase feature outside the United States, while a PlayStation or Xbox player outside the United States may not. The console route through the app also leads to the console’s web store, so the destination and payment prompts should be those of the platform. Availability can change, so follow the current instructions for the specific game and region rather than assuming that an option another player sees will appear for you.
With a retailer card or code
EA recognizes physical retailer cards as a way to redeem FC Points, but that does not establish that every online marketplace listing is authorized. Before paying, make sure the seller is one EA identifies as trusted and verify that the card or code matches your game, platform, and region. Avoid offers that require a seller to sign in to your account or that ask you to share a verification code. Do not assume a code is valid merely because a listing uses FC branding or promises instant delivery.

For a card, read the redemption instructions before buying and check what platform and region the card is intended for. A genuine product category does not prove that a particular listing is genuine, compatible, or currently redeemable. If you cannot establish that the seller is trusted or the code fits your setup, choose an official in-game or platform store instead. There is no verified universal card price or marketplace listing to rely on; prices and compatibility should be checked for the specific offer and platform.
How to recognize and avoid FC Points scams
Keep your credentials to yourself
EA says it will never ask for your password, verification codes, or login credentials through email, social media, forum messages, or console messaging. A person claiming to be a seller, support agent, or giveaway organizer who asks for those details is asking for information that can expose your account and payment information. Do not send it, even if the request arrives in a convincing-looking message.
Phishing is an attempt to obtain account information and passwords. A message may imitate support or use an offer to persuade you to sign in, but a familiar-looking name or logo is not proof that the message is genuine. The safe response is not to use the message’s link: open the official EA or platform app or navigate to its sign-in page yourself. EA’s warning is explicit: “We’ll never ask you for your password, verification codes, or login credentials through email, social media, forum messages, or console messaging systems.”
- Sign in only through official EA and platform sign-in pages or apps.
- Do not share your password, one-time verification code, or account recovery details with a seller.
- Do not let another person log in to your account to “add” Points.
- Ignore links in unsolicited messages that ask you to sign in or confirm account details; navigate to the official service yourself.
- Do not treat a message as legitimate just because it mentions a real game, purchase route, or support process.
Do not confuse FC Points with Ultimate Team Coins
FC Points are a paid currency available through EA-identified purchase channels. Ultimate Team Coins are earned in-game, including by playing matches and selling items at fair prices. EA’s rules prohibit buying or distributing Coins through third parties. Coin sellers may ask for account access and can steal Coins, items, players, or the account itself. Using the Transfer Market to buy or distribute Coins can also lead to limited or revoked Transfer Market access.
Those Coin-related restrictions are not a reason to treat an ordinary FC Points purchase through an official store as prohibited. The important distinction is the currency and the channel: buy Points through EA-identified routes; earn Coins through permitted in-game activity. If someone advertises “Points” but proposes a Coin transfer, a Transfer Market transaction, or account access instead, that is not the standard official Points purchase process. Walk away rather than sharing credentials or risking access to your account or Transfer Market.
Be cautious with suspiciously convenient offers
A third-party offer is not safe just because it is cheaper, delivered quickly, or described as a Points top-up. EA’s guidance is to use the Ultimate Team Store, your console’s store, or trusted retailers. If a seller proposes to buy Coins, move items, use the Transfer Market on your behalf, or take over your account, walk away. Do not pay someone who needs your login to provide a product that should be purchased or redeemed through an official flow.

Use the same test for a social post, a forum message, a direct message, or a marketplace listing: can you verify the purchase route as one EA identifies, and can you buy or redeem without giving the seller account access? If not, do not proceed. EA recognizes trusted retailers and physical cards, but that does not mean every retailer or listing is approved. In particular, a marketplace listing should not be treated as authorized merely because it offers an FC Points code. Check the seller’s status and the code’s game, platform, and regional compatibility before paying.
What FC Points can buy—and whether you need them
EA lists eligible uses that include Ultimate Team Store packs, stadium customization, Draft entries, Evolution slots, the Season Pass, and cosmetic items in the Clubs Store. Availability can depend on the game and its current content. FC Points are optional; they are not required to play Ultimate Team.
Before selecting a bundle, decide what you intend to spend it on and check the item or entry’s cost in the game. The purchase flow is the right place to confirm the bundle, price, and platform account before committing. Do not assume a bundle or eligible item is available in every edition, region, or season.

If your FC Points do not appear

- Restart the game, then check the Points balance again.
- Check EA’s direct communications or service-status information for a known issue affecting Points or the game.
- If the transaction is confirmed and the Points remain missing, contact EA support with the relevant transaction details.
Keep the store or platform name, transaction confirmation, and the account or game involved available when you contact support. The purchase route determines which transaction history to check first. If the record does not show a completed purchase, resolve the payment question with the store that processed it; if it does show a completed transaction and restarting has not helped, EA’s missing-Points guidance says to contact support after checking for a known issue.

Who to contact about a suspicious charge
The company that processed the payment is generally the first place to raise a dispute. EA says purchases through Xbox, PlayStation, and mobile games use those platforms’ billing systems, so contact the relevant Xbox, PlayStation, Apple, or Google support service about a fraudulent charge made there. EA can help with eligible fraudulent charges made directly to an EA Account and with securing that account.
If you suspect someone accessed your EA Account, use EA’s official account-security and support routes. Do not respond to a message asking you to disclose a password or verification code as part of an investigation.
Keep missing Points and unauthorized charges separate when you seek help. For Points that did not arrive, begin with the transaction history and troubleshooting steps for the purchase route. For a charge you did not authorize, contact the billing provider that handled it; EA’s role depends on whether the charge was made directly to an EA Account or through a platform billing system. In either case, use official support routes and do not give a password or verification code to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
