You can cancel Prime through Amazon’s membership settings, but Amazon’s published guidance reviewed here does not guarantee that every Prime Gaming game remains playable after your membership ends. Cancel Prime without closing your Amazon account, then check each game’s claim confirmation and the account or platform where its entitlement appears.
How to cancel Amazon Prime
The menu labels differ by marketplace and signup method. Follow the route for your account, complete the final confirmation prompts, and check the membership page for the stated end date.
Amazon.com website or Shopping app in the US
- On Amazon.com: open Accounts & Lists, choose Prime Membership, then open Manage Membership.
- Choose End Membership and follow the on-screen instructions through the final confirmation.
- In the Amazon Shopping app: open Profile, choose Manage Prime Membership, open the membership controls, then choose End Membership and follow the prompts.

Amazon.co.uk or an Android app signup
Amazon UK’s help page directs members to Your Amazon Prime Membership, then Manage, then Update, Cancel and More; follow the instructions to finish. Amazon says a Prime subscription started through the Android Shopping app must be managed through Google Subscription services. If another provider bills you, cancel through that provider’s subscription controls. Amazon UK: cancel your Amazon Prime membership.

Will you keep playing Prime Gaming games after cancellation?
There is no blanket answer established by the official Amazon sources cited here. They explain how to end Prime, but do not clearly promise that every game claimed through Prime Gaming remains playable after an individual’s membership expires.
Do not confuse a developer ending its participation in Prime Gaming with a customer cancelling Prime. Amazon’s Prime Gaming Promotions Schedule says, unless otherwise specified, end users who were entitled to a promotion item before a developer’s program participation ends are not affected in their further access, use, downloads, or redownloads. That clause concerns a developer agreement, not an individual membership cancellation. It appears in Amazon’s Amazon Appstore for Android Terms of Use.

The same terms discuss purchased Appstore apps: Amazon generally says it will continue making purchased apps available for download and reinstallation, while reserving the ability to limit or disable downloads for licensing or other reasons. Those purchased-app provisions—and the terms about a developer’s program agreement ending—are not a guarantee for Prime Gaming promotional claims.
Check each game’s entitlement before cancelling
Use the claim confirmation and the destination account to establish where a particular title was redeemed. Then check the terms for that title and platform rather than assuming that all claims work alike.

- Where did you claim it? Distinguish a claim made directly through Amazon’s game service from a code or claim redeemed at another store or publisher.
- Which account shows it? Check the Amazon account, external storefront, or publisher account where the game entitlement appears. If it was delivered to another platform, check that account directly.
- What kind of benefit is it? A standalone game claim, an in-game item, and access to a subscription-dependent service may have different conditions.
- What do the applicable terms require? Look for whether the platform or publisher requires an active subscription. The sources cited here do not establish that requirement—or its absence—for every title.
Keep the claim confirmation and note the account or platform that displays the entitlement. This helps you check the correct provider if access changes; it is not itself a guarantee of continued access.

Refund eligibility depends on marketplace and benefit use
Amazon UK’s cancellation guidance says paid members who have not placed an order using Prime benefits are eligible for a full refund. Members who have used only delivery benefits may be eligible for a partial refund. The page says members who used Prime Video, Prime Music, or Prime Gaming benefits are not eligible for a refund. Check separately billed subscriptions
Prime Video says additional subscriptions tied to Amazon Prime or Prime Video do not renew once Amazon Prime ends. A Prime Video-only subscription is distinct from Amazon Prime. Review any separately billed streaming or gaming subscriptions with their provider rather than assuming they are included in Prime. Prime Video: cancel my Prime Video subscription.
