PlayStation lists GTA VI for PS5 and PS5 Pro, with a scheduled release date of November 19, 2026; its GTA VI page says the game will not be available for PS4. That date and platform information is current to official PlayStation material accessed October 9, 2026, and could change. For a quick send, the console’s Share option is the direct route: find the captured image, select it, and choose a destination. PlayStation’s guide describes sharing from Recently created or Media Gallery. How to get PS5 captures onto a phone
PlayStation App can receive eligible PS5 captures through its game-captures feature where that feature is supported. PlayStation says uploaded captures remain available in the app for 14 days after capture; this is not a universal guarantee for every region or capture type.
- Link the PS5 to PlayStation App and enable PS5 game captures in the app.
- On the console, turn on auto-upload in capture settings. The console must also be configured to remain connected while in Rest Mode.
- Once an eligible capture uploads, open PlayStation App and go to Library > Captures.
- Choose the capture to save it to your device or share it from the app.
Feature availability varies by country or region. If captures do not appear, check that the console and app are linked, auto-upload is enabled, the console can stay connected in Rest Mode, and the feature is available where you live. The 14-day period applies to eligible captures available through this app feature, not to images already saved elsewhere.
This is an optional phone path, not a prerequisite for taking screenshots. It is most useful if you want to save a capture to your mobile device or share it from the app rather than select a destination on the console. The process depends on several settings working together: the PS5 must be linked to the app, the app’s game-capture feature must be enabled, the console must have auto-upload turned on, and the console must be configured to remain connected during Rest Mode.

If one of those conditions is missing, an eligible capture may not show in Library > Captures. Check each setting in turn before taking another screenshot or assuming the game has blocked it. Also check regional availability: PlayStation states that the feature is not available in every country or region. The app’s 14-day window applies to eligible captures uploaded through the feature. How to copy PS5 screenshots to a USB drive

Choose based on where you want the image to end up. For a screenshot and immediate send from the console, use Share from Recently created or Media Gallery.
