You can’t switch an Epic Games account from child to adult with a simple setting. If its date of birth is wrong, ask Epic to correct it through the Epic Games Support Assistant and complete the age verification it requests. If the birth date is correct but the account is restricted, the issue is more likely parental consent or a control setting—not an age record that needs changing.
First, identify why the account is restricted
“Child account” can mean different things. Epic distinguishes an incorrect date of birth from a Cabined Account that needs a parent’s permission, and from parental controls that may still affect an adult account. Use the route that matches the problem:

- The date of birth is wrong: request an age correction through Epic Support.
- The date of birth is right, but the account is Cabined: a parent or guardian can complete the consent process for eligible features.
- You are an adult but purchases still require permission: check parental controls and try Epic’s recommended reset.
Epic does not let account holders view the date of birth stored on the account, so you may need to contact support to establish whether it needs correction (Kids Web Services Support).
Correct an incorrect date of birth
Epic’s supported route is an age-correction request—not entering a false birth date or creating another account to get around restrictions.

- Follow the age-correction process and provide the information Epic requests.

Epic does not state a guaranteed resolution time. Verification options and requirements may depend on location.
For a parent correcting a child’s date of birth
A parent or guardian should use Epic’s Parent/Guardian request form rather than trying to inspect the stored birth date in the account.

- Open the Parent/Guardian request form.
- Enter the guardian email address and verify it.
- Select the child’s account from the list.
- Describe the issue and include both the incorrect date and the correct date requested.
- Complete the form in one session.
If the child’s account does not appear, Epic says it may be associated with a different guardian email address.
If the account is Cabined, complete parental consent
A Cabined Account is restricted because of the player’s age and applicable local digital-consent rules. That does not necessarily mean the account has an incorrect birth date. A parent or guardian can follow Epic’s consent email, review the terms and privacy practices, choose from the available parental-control settings, complete adult verification, and confirm that the permissions were applied. The verification options vary by country.

This process can enable features for which parental permission is available; it does not correct an inaccurate date of birth. Epic describes Cabined Accounts as applying to users under 13 or the higher digital-consent age that applies in their region, so the threshold is not universal (Epic Games parental consent information).

If you are an adult and the account still blocks purchases with a parental-permission message, Epic recommends checking parental controls. In the settings, change the highest parental-control preference to another setting, then change it back to the highest setting. This is a troubleshooting step for a lingering control issue; it does not change the account’s date of birth.
