ARC Raiders’ crosshair controls are in Settings → Accessibility, not the Interface or HUD menus. On PC, select the gear icon in the bottom-right of the main menu, then choose Accessibility. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, open Social, select the gear icon on the left, and choose Accessibility. Scroll to Blocked Line of Fire and Crosshair to customize the reticle and related aiming overlays.
The instructions and setting labels below reflect the latest official entries checked for this guide: Store Update 1.40.0 from August 4, 2026, and Live Update 1.39.0 from July 28, 2026. Neither changed the crosshair controls. See Embark’s official accessibility and button-remapping guide for the documented menu path.

Blocked Line of Fire
- Move Crosshair When Line of Fire is Blocked: moves the reticle toward the point where the shot would hit when an obstacle blocks the weapon’s line of fire.
- Smooth Move When Line of Fire is Blocked: animates that reticle movement instead of moving it immediately.
This is not aim assist, sensitivity adjustment, or a damage mechanic. It is a visual warning that your weapon’s shot is being intercepted by cover, a wall, a window frame, or another nearby obstacle.

Crosshair
- Override Crosshair Shape: enables the custom crosshair controls. When disabled, the normal weapon-dependent reticle behavior remains active.
- Crosshair Shape: selects the reticle style.
- Weapon Crosshair Center Dot: adds or removes the center dot.
- Crosshair Center Dot Radius: sets the dot size from 1 to 4.
- Crosshair Length: sets line length from 1 to 30.
- Crosshair Thickness: sets line thickness from 1 to 4.
- Crosshair Outline Thickness: sets the outline from 0 to 4.
- Crosshair Opacity: sets visibility from 10 to 100.
- Crosshair Red, Green and Blue: set the reticle color with RGB values from 0 to 255.
- Crosshair Outline Red, Green and Blue: set the outline color with RGB values from 0 to 255.
A clean starting setup for aiming
There is no universally best reticle, but this setup reduces clutter while preserving useful feedback:
- Turn Override Crosshair Shape on.
- Choose a simple crosshair rather than a large or heavily segmented design.
- Set Crosshair Thickness to 1 or 2.
- Set Crosshair Outline Thickness to 0 or 1.
- Choose a high-contrast color with the RGB controls.
- Keep Crosshair Opacity high enough to remain visible over foliage, smoke and bright sky.
- Enable Weapon Crosshair Center Dot only if the center is difficult to track while moving.
- Leave Move Crosshair When Line of Fire is Blocked enabled if you want an immediate warning that cover will intercept your shot.
- Turn Smooth Move When Line of Fire is Blocked off if the animated movement distracts you or makes target tracking harder.
For a compact reticle, lower line length and thickness first. Do not expect a fully dot-only reticle: the documented Crosshair Length range starts at 1, so ARC Raiders does not provide a zero-length option that removes every line.

Overlay settings that affect the sight picture
Some visual distractions are controlled outside the Crosshair subsection.
Gameplay settings
- HUD Position: controls whether HUD elements sit toward the screen edges or in a more central layout. Use the stretched layout if you want less information near the aiming area.
- Show Reload Progress: displays a reload-progress circle near the center of the screen. Turn it off if that indicator is more distracting than useful.
- Show Damage Direction: displays a red indicator showing where incoming damage came from. Keep it enabled if positional awareness matters more than absolute visual minimalism.
Graphics settings
- Motion Blur: disabling it can make moving targets and the reticle easier to read.
- Motion Blur Intensity: reduces the effect without necessarily disabling it. The slider uses a 0–100 range.
Motion Blur Intensity was added in the December 2025 1.7.0 update. It changes the overall image, not the crosshair itself. The official details are available in Embark’s December Update 1.7.0 notes.

Fixes for common crosshair problems
The crosshair controls are missing
Check Settings → Accessibility. The current documented controls are not under Interface, HUD or Gameplay.
The custom reticle does not change
Turn on Override Crosshair Shape. Shape, size, opacity and RGB changes are intended to apply after the override is enabled. With it off, the game continues using its normal weapon-dependent reticle behavior.

The reticle jumps toward a wall or cover
Disable Move Crosshair When Line of Fire is Blocked. The movement indicates a blocked shot path; it is not ordinary aim assist and is not caused by mouse or controller sensitivity.

The reticle moves abruptly

A dot-only crosshair will not work
ARC Raiders supports a center dot, but the documented line-length minimum is 1. There is no listed zero-length setting for removing all lines.
The center dot seems stuck on screen
Use Weapon Crosshair Center Dot to disable it. Changing the dot radius does not remove the dot. If it still appears, toggle the dot option again and confirm that the custom override state is behaving as expected.
HUD visibility is wrong when a round begins
Live Update 1.36.0, released July 7, 2026, fixed an issue where the HUD visibility option was not applied correctly at the start of a round. The latest official entries checked for this guide do not list a new crosshair change. If the problem persists after updating, it is not the previously documented 1.36.0 issue.

You do not need a third-party monitor crosshair: the game includes native shape, center-dot, size, opacity, outline and RGB controls under Accessibility → Crosshair. No in-game command or console syntax is documented for changing these settings; use the native menu instead.
Likewise, Move Crosshair When Line of Fire is Blocked should not be described as aim assist. It visualizes where a blocked shot would land and does not change targeting, weapon damage or sensitivity.
